CC Las Arenas — Attraction in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Shopping heaven, under the sun.

The Centro Comercial Las Arenas is in Las Palmas, near the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus at the end of the Las Canteras beach.

To get there, you take the GC-2 towards Gáldar; you'll soon see signs to the C.C. on the right. Or you can take a bus: numbers 17, 25, 31, 35 and 47 all go there.

If you go by car, there's a gigantic underground car park with free parking for 3 hours. But they didn't control it when we were there, and there was what looked like a pretty permanent sign at the car park exit which said "Don't put your ticket in the machine - just drive up to the barrier and it will open". Which it did.

TIP 1: remember the colour of the pillars where you parked your car

TIP 2: remember the name of the shops on either side of the car park exit when you get to the mall; otherwise you'll never find your way back in again!

This is a proper shopping centre, unlike the ones in the resorts. It is very big, and has 3 floors of shops, with all the well-known names, Spanish and international. There is an enormous hypermarket where you can stock up on things to take home at better prices than in the resorts.

In fact, everything in the centro is Canarian price, not Foreign Tourist price, so you'll see a big saving here.

There's also an excellent choice of places for a snack or a full-blown meal, and a multi-screen cinema.

At certain times of the year, there are themed activities here. At Christmas there was an ice rink. An ice rink in 23 degrees heat!

There's generally something for all the family to latch on to here, from bargain booze to lovely jewellery to the latest fashions to cut-price games for...

We like it. Las Arenas Mall is a very nice mall. Has a little of everything. Underground Parking is free for the first 3 hours at the time of this review. It is a short run on the #32, 33 or L2 GuaGua bus, along bicycle trails of Paseo Chil or the Marina and then across to the Las Canteras Beach and to the south end or an hours walk from our Hello House Hostel. Lovely Mall. Always nice to come hide in hear in the AC on the super hot days. Bathrooms and mall kept clean. Stores and activities for all ages. Groupon Hint for movies or dining out. Just remember most coupons activate 24 hrs later not same day. Carrefour, sports shops, Primark, Food Court, Video Games, Movie Theatre etc etc. Definely worth a stop if at the South end of Playa Las Canteras. Large sized shopping centre suitable for those who prefer high end shopping, and those who like to find a bargain. variety of retail shops and restaurants to take a break and eat. great prices compared to shopping in the UK 🇬🇧. 3 floors worth of retail at least, electric ramps instesd of escalator which is nice for disabled, prams and luggage. Got screamed at by a spanish cleaner as i wanted to try on a swim suit i just bought in the bathroom, not that its any of her business what i do in the toilet, i explained i dont speak spanish, she kept shouting, so i didnt try it on, just used the toilet and left. if not for that very weird encounter I'd give the...
