Title: Fantastic Culinary Experience at Mercado de San Ildefonso! Mercado de San Ildefonso in Madrid was an absolute delight during my visit! Nestled in the vibrant Malasaña neighborhood, this market offers a fantastic mix of culinary experiences. As soon as you step in, you are greeted with a lively atmosphere and the tantalizing aromas of diverse cuisines. The choice of food is impressive, with stalls offering everything from traditional Spanish tapas to international flavors. I particularly loved the seafood paella and the freshly-made sushi; both were delicious and beautifully presented. The bar on the top floor is a perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing cocktail or a glass of Spanish wine while enjoying the lively ambiance. What sets Mercado de San Ildefonso apart is its blend of great food, drinks, and a warm, friendly vibe. It's a wonderful place to meet friends or simply enjoy a casual meal while soaking in the local culture. The staff is friendly and eager to help with recommendations, making the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a food lover or just looking to immerse yourself in Madrid's culinary scene, Mercado de San Ildefonso is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone in the world

Went here for lunch on Sunday last. Loads of choice between all the stalls. There was a full bar on Levels 2 and 3 - we brought in water bottles from outside and were told that we couldn't have those in there. We just put them in our bags and there was no problem after that. We ordered the tacos from Paco Taco on the first floor (Level 2) and they were great - came with a lovely salsa that went with all the flavours. Got some Bao from Mr. Bao on the ground floor - I ordered BBQ pork bao and got vegetarian bao instead but didn't mind, they were still lovely. They were a bit hard on the bottom, as if they had been sitting on a heater for a long time to keep them warm until someone ordered them but I still liked them. Would recommend the market if you're not sure what you're in the mood for - there is every type of cuisine there so there is definitely something to cater for all.

Another great market transformed into a gourmet experience. More international food than in San Miguel or San Anton. You can find korean, mexican, latinamerican inspired and traditional huevos rotos, jamon and cheese. I wouldn't describe anything as outstanding but everything is fresh and made to order which is always nice. I really like the kiosk with the different eggs and omelettes in the corner where the bar is. You can also find an indoor terrace in the second floor. It gets super packed if you go at typical lunch or dinner hours. I always recommend going a bit earlier (1pm or 7pm) to find a spot if you'd like to stay there for a while. For a quick bite you can go at any time if you're ok with crowds.

Three stars. One for the location, one for the great bar staff, another for their good drinks. It says twenty food stalls, but I am not sure if it's really that many, it felt like it was fewer than that. Not entirely happy with the food stalls, they might forget your order or serve you cold food. Food quality and preparation speed was okay with some, but not with others. The way the jamon was cut, I don't know... The taste of the Chorizo a bit bland... I'm pretty sure that this is a good place for a drink with a DJ playing hip music in the background. Probably a good place to take a date or find one. However, don't expect too much from the food. There are other Mercados which serve much better food.
