Cafetería Los Naranjos — Attraction in Marbella

Well, I don’t know where to start.. the food was bad, the drinks were bad and the service was very, VERY, very baaaaad. We ordered fresh pressed juices, and when we got them they were warm - and all we got was one tiny ice cube. I ordered pasta salad with tuna.. and it was guess what? Also bad! My pasta freaking swam in olive oil. Like it tasted of oil and nothing else. I told the waiter that i can’t eat that he told me in Spanish that he doesn’t care and that’s just how they make their salad. I told him that I can’t eat that and he just told me that he couldn’t do anything. I mean, at least you could offer to make another portion/ bring me a new one or choose something else, but nope.. some salad my friend got on the side was not washed properly as it tasted of earth and was dirty. When we got the bill we tried to explain that we won’t pay for something we haven’t eaten and the girl told us that we should have known that there is olive oil in the salad. We showed her how much oil there was and she simply nodded and told us to pay anyways.... So the end of the story.. she almost threw the payment terminal thing in my hands looking the other way. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the experience my party and I had at your restaurant. We arrived and waited for 30 minutes to be seated, and after being seated, we were left unattended. Despite asking several times for service, no one brought us a menu or acknowledged our presence. After waiting for over 40 minutes without any service, we decided to leave without placing an order.

The restaurant is located in a corner of a light, nice, large, leafy square. It is one of many, but is located on one that side which gets the longest, nice sun in the evening. The food is solid, if a little unimaginative. A spotlight might be the black pudding from the north of Spain, which, unlike the English black pudding, comes across as very light and tasty. The wine recommendation also comes from northern Spain. Service is fast and friendly but also a little impersonal, which suits the tourist location. All in all ok but...
