Firstly the positives. This is a nice-looking ‘Michelin star’ restaurant in the heart of the old town. It felt relaxed and we received a nice-enough welcome. The staff were efficient and professional but certainly not the friendliest we experienced in Marbella. We were attracted by the shorter tasting menu which seemed good value at €60 each. The wine was also well priced. I wasn’t concerned about some of the reviews that said the portion sizes were small - as my wife and I just wanted a ‘taste sensation’. But, unfortunately, that isn’t what we got. We both found that the food was underwhelming and bland. The experience itself was positive overall but we were both disappointed with the taste of the food itself. If you’re going to have a ‘tasting’ menu then you should make sure there’s a taste. Most dishes were without much flavour. It’s a real shame. It could be a great restaurant. We obviously can’t comment on the a la carte dishes as we didn’t try them. Maybe their were better? I think my favourite dish was the first one - smoked mackerel in ajo blanco. But even this wasn’t overly flavoursome. The shellfish tasted just of sea water. The fish of the day was decent but nothing special. The cabbage was just cabbage. The final cheese plate consisted of 3 types of goats cheese. But they all tasted very similar - like goats cheese. I hope that they see this as constructive criticism and make some changes. We are not the only people to make online comments about...
Read moreWe had high expectations for Casa Eladio as we had heard it was a great representation of local dishes and it had received a Michelin star. We left super disappointed and baffled on how this place received a star.
The good: The location of the restaurant is great and the surrounding shops and restaurants are super pleasant, the restaurant itself is also very well decorated.
The bad: the issues started when we were seated and we were ignored for 30-40 minutes, we were left with menus (thankfully) but no water or options to order drinks. Once the waiter finally made his way over it seemed like we were bothering him by wanting to order (that’s usually what people do at restaurants :) ) and he seemed eager to just take our order and go back to the kitchen. I also noticed that the table cloth was dirty when we sat and the response was a rude “well do you want us to change it?” At no other Michelin I’ve been to would that have been the response.
From there it went from bad to worse, anytime we had questions about the menu or food it seemed like the staff couldn’t be bothered to answer.
Overall, the food was pretty good but not worth the rude wait staff and long wait...
Read moreWe dined here last weekend for a special occasion and we left very disappointed. After being showed to our table, it took the staff quite a while to take our drinks and food orders. When they served the drinks, only 1 of 3 actually received a drink. After 5 mins we had to ask where the other 2 drinks were which they got wrong and had to be sent back for the correct ones.
Our starters were tasty, in particular mine which was the octopus. Our main courses however were very disappointing. My aunt ordered a fish dish - it looked like prison food when it arrived. The fish had been battered and it wasn’t crispy. The cauliflower and broad beans “mash” was a grey mess. On the side, was a white foam which tasted incredibly fishy and not appetising at all. My main of pig’s cheeks arrived cold. The food was bland and none of us were interested to try their desserts after the appalling main courses. The service was also slow and not attentive.
Would I dine here again or recommend it to someone -...
