Castillo de San Felipe in Puerto de la Cruz
The Castillo de San Felipe is one of those places where you can still feel the historic battles fought in defense of the islands and which carries the echo of a more violent and uncertain time.
The Castillo de San Felipe is located about one kilometer from the city center of Puerto de la Cruz and right next to the leisure facilities of Playa Jardín.
The Castillo de San Felipe had a defensive mission to ward off pirate attacks and was also used as a base station.
Although this was the purpose for which it was built, over time it has found many uses, for example it was for a time a hospital, a warehouse, a shooting club and even a restaurant.
In recent years it has even been used for concerts and exhibitions.
It can be said that the Castillo de San Felipe has been kept in good condition thanks to the remodeling and innovations that are carried out on a regular basis. It currently serves as a cultural space.
