Oh my god, where to start.
We came to the restaurant minutes after opening and were expecting some really good food after seeing all the reviews, that was not exactly that happened.
An older server came to our table and just stared at us for 30 seconds straight. When we were about to ask him what does he want, he asked us "coffe?" We just replied that we want to eat. What in a world was that reaction.
Starters were mediocre, we had shrimps in garlic oil.
Both our main dishes consisted of fish and typical local potatoes with mojos. I didn't like my food - it felt like it was not seasoned at all and the mojos weren't able to fix it. They were just so sour that we ate the potatoes without them, because it actually made the potatoes worse.
No one, I mean no one, spoke English there. We talked with 3 different servers and no one was able to speak with us in English normal way. I had to point on the menu to order a food and the server had problems even understanding the menu since it was in english as well.
We also paid with 2 starters, 2 main dishes and 2 coca colas about €52 (incl. IGIC) which is terrible.
Overall terrible experience. Definitely never coming back. Service was terrible, food was really bad and it was kinda expensive for this...
Read moreWe Visited this gem of a family-run kind of "boat to table" restaurant twice during our stay in Puerto de la Cruz, and each time was an unforgettable experience with my girlfriend. What makes this place even more special is that they catch their own fish and prepare it right in their restaurant for the guests.
Last week, we had paella at six different places, and this restaurant's version, which required advance ordering, was by far the standout. Simply put, it was the best paella we've had all week.
Yesterday, we enjoyed some shellfish, prawns, and other sea delicacies. Here, not only were they the most delicious, but they were also unmistakably the freshest and largest seafood we’ve had, all at a very reasonable price.
The staff here deserves a special mention. They speak impeccable English, are incredibly kind, and are always seen with a smile. I've never experienced such warmth and hospitality before.
Lastly, a shout-out to their house wine and desserts – they were absolutely divine. Every dish we ordered consistently exceeded our expectations. A must-visit...
Read moreMy son picked up a burger here one lunchtime and because he enjoyed it so much, insisted we all go there for dinner. And Wow! We were tempted by the sirloin steak offered on the menu but when we arrived, the owner apologised because all he had was fresh beefsteak and two Tbones... The meal was simply incredible. All of us struggled to finish the platefuls put in front of us. I had the Tbone and it was perfectly cooked, delightfully seasoned and tasted wonderful. The bill, when it arrived, was so reasonable that I asked the waiter to double check he had got it right as it seemed way too cheap to be possible... But no, it was correct. 84 euros for 4 of the finest steaks I have seen served on any plate in...
