We went to the permanent exhibition only.
In the first room there are objects which are brought to life with audio and animated stories. They are nestled within an ocean of fibre optic cables which create waves of light. All written information is presented in both Spanish and English and so are the audio dialogues. The level of written information presented was about right. With some exhibits you have to do things like pull a rope or put a coin into a hat (you get it back) to make the story begin, and this interaction with the exhibition was quite fun.
Near the end of the exhibition there are interactive screens where you can zoom in on images of Sevilla and see more information about buildings and places as well as view some videos; we hadn't realised how to fully use this so a friendly member of staff showed us, but maybe it could use some written instructions alongside it. There are plenty of replicas of ships to appreciate. The exhibition would appeal to children as well as adults. Personally I loved the way a dramatised narrative was created around each of the objects exhibited.
It was really sad to see that we were the only people there during our visit, which lasted well over an hour and a half. Its location won't help as the area is off the beaten track (we had been for a general look around Expo 92 sites) and we were there in November so well out of season, but you can tell a lot of thought and creativity has gone into it and this exhibition certainly deserves to be included...
Read moreI was really impressed to learnt how beautiful this permanent exhibition is. There is a sea made of lights. You can watch lots of animated videos of great quality about stories from characters related to the sea and international expeditions - you can play them in Spanish or English. The ways to active them are awesome and super creative - I better don't do spoilers here! I went with my 6 yo nephew and he enjoyed so much. We weren't able to finish the whole exhibition because we were stopping at everything and we had to leave. There are interactive games and models to see. You can leave the premises and go back during the day to continue your visit.
We saw the 360% film about the solar system. The quality of the image wasn't great but I found it very enjoyable - you can see the pixels clearly at some points. My nephew got a bit bored but I think it might have been because we were there for more than an hour already. The film is introduced by a staff member and I would check beforehand if you can do it in English.
The staff is super friendly and they explained us lots of details, which make our visit even more enjoyable. I definitely recommend it either if you are a visitor with some extra time after seeing Sevilla's main points of interests or if you...
