It might have been the fact that it was a week day (it was a Wednesday) or because it too close to the siesta time, but whatever the answer, I found myself alone and had the entire museum all to myself. And I loved every second. I wore my earphones, put some classic piano playlist on, and walked through that corridors like I was a main character. Now some extra info, just because I like extra info about the places I visit: "The building dates back to the 17th century, but few original elements remain. [...] In 1840 an active businessman and mayor of Valencia established his residence and corporate headquarters there, carrying out major renovations. The main façade, in a Classicist style, features two large lattice doors that lead to an arcaded courtyard. To the right, a Louis XV-style staircase leads to the first floor [...] The palace houses the Museo de la Ciudad, which displays interesting municipal collections of paintings, prints, and weights and measures." (From: valencia. es) Beautiful place. Amazing experience. Guys, go. I was using the Valencia Tourist Card so it was free, but if I'm not mistaken the price is just €2, and €1 for concessions.

Valencia is the city of arts and culture, so if you like painting, discover the beautiful building and exhibitions inside "Palau Marqués del Campo" also known as the city museum (Museo de la Ciudad). When I was there (July 2023) it had a wonderful temporary exhibition of Antonio Abellan, named "Un passeo por la cuidad" (A walk in the city). I simply loved the contemporary paintings, full of colour and life. My favourites are in the photos. Then, there is also other exhibition that includes archaeological objects from the period when the city was first established, as well as from the Roman, Visigoth, Muslim and Christian eras. There are documents from the time of the Conquest by King Jaime I and subsequent periods, a model representing the Royal Palace of Valencia. It sure worths a visit. Price: free entrance during some large periods of time in the year, but I've seen online that the normal cost is 1 or 2 €

Wow, what a gem in the heart of Valencia! The Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas is a must-visit for anyone who loves architecture and history. The facade alone is jaw-dropping think intricate baroque swirls and sculptures that make you stop and stare. Inside, the National Ceramics Museum is a delightful surprise. The collection is fascinating, with everything from ancient pottery to quirky ceramic scenes that tell stories of old Spain. Don’t miss the fully ceramic-tiled kitchen - it’s like stepping into a work of art! Entry is only €3, but it’s free on Sundays and Saturday afternoons after 4 PM. Go early to avoid crowds, and grab a coffee at a nearby café to soak in the vibe of this historic area. Perfect for a quick cultural stop!
