This is the worst service experience I've had in years. We waited 20/25 minutes before a menu was thrown on the table. The 4 people beside us were given 1 menu to share. The very surly waitress took our order with total indifference. .It took a while for drinks to arrive. Then a long while later anchovies with cheese, tomatoes and olives arrived with bread. I said to the waitress I ordered anchovies with tomato bread. She said that is what came with the anchovies when clearly the menu had anchovies in vinegar and anchovies with 3 accompaniments as 2 different dishes. As it turned out it tasted quite nice. After I had finished my husband still had to wait 10 or 15 minutes for his meal. His 2 tiny, thin pieces of steak with limp chips and a salad Nicosia (which the menu described as just a salad and as he hates fish he really didn't eat much of the salad) were in his words "pretty horrible". There is absolutely nothing good I can say about this place. All the staff looked very surly although we only had to suffer the indifference of one of them. This suffering all took 1...
Read moreThis place is amazing!! If you’re a food lover you will really appreciate this restaurant, it is for sure worth the walk. The restaurant is run by a local family: the dad is behind the bar, the mom is the chef and the daughter takes care of the guests. The food is some of the freshest and best in town and worth every euro. When your plates are served it may look rather simple but the quality and flavors of the food are nothing like other tapas restaurant around. If you get the chance try to get a seat outside next to the window so you can look inside and see the family interact with each other, I found it very endearing.
Drink recommendations: agua de Valencia Tinto de verano (similar to sangria, ask for the white wine version!)
Food recommendations: Queso manchego (if you’re a cheese lover definitely get this! second photo) patatas bravas calamaris a las romana croquetas...
Read moreI used to like this place but likely thanks to Valencia’s popularity and hype in the recent years, they have increased their already above average prices to a level that no person should be willing to pay for the food they offer. the same food you will get anywhere around this city. is it good? maybe. is it worth the price? absolutely no. is it the market price? hell no! the place does not serve anything out of the ordinary -typical tapas you get everywhere around the city with no elaboration or addition to quality and a few very basic dishes, for an extraordinary high prices. it is a shame that there are so many places like this in Valencia and the tourism, foreigners from wealthy countries and lack of ambition of local people keeps places like this alive and...
