Well isn’t the biggest one but rate a bullring is a bit difficult since we’re trying to understand that is also and historic landmark. So don’t expect a comfortable seat. It’s at the city centre and next to XATIVA subway stop. Get a free bullfight newspaper outside and seat above it . Price is ok from 30€ (higher seats and sun) to 150€ ( lowest seating and at the shadow) . I am very taurino and definitely I recommend the tourist people to give it a try; specially at fallas time

Amazing building to see, from outside and inside, seems like a small copy of Colloseum, which was inspiration for the building itself. The staff at the ticket office was friendly and helpful, communication was possible in English. IMPORTANT I strongly recommend you go to the museum first, ticket is 2 € if I am not mistaken, there you should be able to see what goes on in the bullfighting arena (video). For me and my travel companions the experience was not pleasant, pretty uncomfortable. I know that for the Spanish people this is centuries long tradition, and maybe it is something you should experience, but we left in the middle of the show (it lasts about 2 - 2,5 hours). The bulls came in the arena a bit confused, each bull "show" lasts for about 15-20 minutes, after that, at the end, they k**l the bull, if you can't handle that, I strongly advise you to not go to the bullfighting event. For all three that we did watch, the show was the same. For tourists like us, who are not used to this, we were uncomfortable watching the event, not to mention all three "shows" were the same. Kinda not what we expected, but you should try for yourself and judge by yourself. Also you can get cheaper tickets, for me personally, even if we would be in top row, we could see pretty good what goes on in the arena, so no point of spending a lot of money for tickets. For us it was a first time experience and definitely the last.

So close yet so far, finally after many many times of trying to find the entrance ( as it’s very well hidden) we got there only to be told the bullring was closed because of a tennis match, gutted. On up up side there we a very small museum which displayed past outfits worn by bull fighters. It was only €5 for 3 of us so very cheep, it was well kept but only one toilet. Not sure if it’s good for wheelchairs or prams as there are lots of steps, there was a underground car park opposite so not far to walk. All the information was in English and Spanish and the staff where very friendly.

Located next to the North railway station the bullring is a neoclassic design by Sebastián Monleón Estellés, built between 1850 and 1860 on the site of an unfinished plaza. It is 17.65 metres high and the ring itself is 52 metres in diameter. There are four levels decorated with an array of differing brick arches and wooden balustrades. Inside there are 24 rows in the stands. The main events take place during las Fallas and the July Fair.

No bullfighting as it’s banned in the Catalonia region however visiting the bullring was a formidable experience. Just sitting in the stands and imagining the gruesome tradition of this event with thousands cheering on, must of been something. Seeing photos of matadors on horseback stabbing the bulls while the horse wears a blindfold and being serrated by the bulls horns was shocking. Too gruesome to show a picture. Entry is free.
