Don't encourage this temple by visiting and wasting money. God does not ask for money to be worshipped. A temple should be a divine place, not a marketplace for promoting wealth and power. However, this temple is all about money and rich political figures, treating them like gods. I have seen how one person welcomes these politicians as if they are welcoming them into their own home, giving them special treatment while ordinary devotees are ignored.

A temple (kovil) should be equal for everyone—people come to worship God, not to worship the rich and powerful. But here, they use political figures to market the temple, posting pictures and videos of them on social media to gain attention and donations. They make it seem like the temple is prestigious because of these politicians, rather than focusing on spirituality and devotion. I have never seen a temple like this anywhere else. If you check their Facebook page, you’ll see how they market the temple with political figures ,rich people instead of true religious values. The workers and the person in charge, who welcomes every politician into the temple, are rude. They lack basic manners and are extremely disrespectful to ordinary people while giving special treatment to politicians and wealthy...

I saw a girl harassed by three men from the temple management for wearing a loose fitted jeans. They were so disrespectful. She defended badly because she was not wearing anything inappropriate. I am appalled by how chauvinistic and harrassing they were. I hope God sees what she went through. She just wanted to pray and but ended up being harrassed inside a temple. I hope they get their karma. I have a guilt that I didn't intervene. If this is a privately owned temple why are u allowing public to enter? Why are u making money. I have never this kind of chauvinism n arrogance in kalikaambal or samayapuram Amman tempest in India. How can women who work in companies enter the temple? How can one assume they all are jobless to get dolled up for prayers. Y were the men looking at the girls bottom? I hope God punishes these indecent and...

A good hindu temple dedicated to goddess Kaali. Architecture is one of true beauty. You do feel some tranquilizing effect inside tge temple. Different priests performing pooja's simultaneously at the different altars. The concierges systematically guide you through the process. At the entrance, if the dresses are short/tight or revealing they offer you a wrap around. There is a ticket counter for purchasing poojas, archanas. Clear boards indicating male side and female side infront of deities. But some did not respect or follow that. Onw oe two cases of worshippers disturbing the preists requesting for some special thing. Otherwise everything was orderly. After a long time, had a pleasant experience at this temple.

Plenty of vendors outside the tempke selling flowers, garlands and pooja goods. Parking is also...

Mayurapathy Kovil is a vibrant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, known for its colorful architecture and spiritual energy. The temple's ornate gopuram (tower), adorned with intricate sculptures of deities, immediately captures attention. Devotees flock here for daily pujas and special festivals like Thaipusam, when the temple comes alive with processions, music, and elaborate rituals. The peaceful inner sanctum provides a contrast to the lively exterior, offering space for personal prayer and reflection. Located in a bustling area, this sacred site beautifully balances spiritual serenity with cultural dynamism, making it a must-visit for both worshippers and those interested in Hindu traditions. Remember to remove footwear before entering and dress modestly.

Mayurapathy Sri Bathrakali Amman Kovil🛕, located at 17A Mayura Place, Havelock Road, Colombo 6, is a revered Hindu temple with deep historical roots. Established to serve Indian mill workers in the area, it has evolved into a prominent spiritual center. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture🏛, featuring intricately adorned shrines dedicated to deities like Lord Ganesha, Goddess Saraswati, and Goddess Maha Kali Amman. A notable highlight is the Temple of Arts, initiated in 1997, housing numerous statues crafted by artisans from Kalligudi, India. The temple's management deserves accolades for their exceptional hospitality and friendly nature. The staff and volunteers were always ready to assist, answering questions and guiding visitors with a genuine smile. Their passion for their work and dedication to providing a positive experience were evident, making every visitor feel valued and welcomed.Every Tuesday and Friday, the temple hosts special pujas (Abisheka puja). The temple's newly modified architecture is awe-inspiring. The careful attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the beautifully carved statues to the intricate designs adorning the walls.
