Burritofriends — Restaurant in Malmö kommun

Dear managing team, My partner and I are regular customers here (40-50 orders last year). Off late, over the last 6 weeks by our calculation, something important has changed. The burritos JUST DON’T taste the same anymore. The home delivery has inconsistent taste, goof ups in the fillings (turkey instead of chicken achiote once, then today it was meat or mock meat of some kind instead of Jackfruit, then another time the filling ratios were completely off and the product was doughy). Overall, I am worried that our favourite Burrito Place(s) between Kronprinsen and the one near Opera, either there has been a BIG staff change, or some operational laxation, or both. But the taste, consistency, accuracy and excellence we have come to expect from Burrito Friends is going through some torrid flux.

Happy to change the rating once I can get some assurances or reason why this may have been happening.

I am not impressed at all, it tasted around the same as a cheap bowl in the supermarket sadly. Just a bit more chili. She said everything was mild, but my mouth is burning, so I presume almost medium is more correct. If you are used to chili, it is most likely too mild ;) I took a menu, but they didn’t have any ice cream but I still had to pay 125 kr. And some taco crisps, just the ordinary cheese and salted ones. And then a lemonade,which mostly tasted like slush ice w/o the ice. But honestly, I normally eat an extremely little amount of sugar, so it is probably fine! And later at home, I found out that they also had menus with Ben&Jerry ice cream, why didn’t she try to sell me such menu instead ? Especially when I stood and looked at that ice cream ?

But I will end this review, with that they are really service minded. I wanted to try all kind of vegetarian meat and that were no problem to...

If you are looking for a Mexican or even Tex-Mex eatery.....look elsewhere. If you are looking for a falafelroll style burrito then this is your place! I ordered a burrito: The tortilla- it is like a sweet crepé, the taste doesn’t even attempt to mimick a flour tortilla. The insides-rice is long grain white rice mixed with a spicy sauce with no flavor. The other options are ingredients such as the pizza salad, corn, other salad, cold black beans, garbanzos ....I don’t know for some reason orange slices....they do have pico de Gallo, but it was all finely chopped that it had no flavor. The sauces- you will not find salsa here. Mango sauce, check. Garlic sauce, check.

Overall I would not call this place a “Mexican Eatery” as burrito bar claims to be. If you are in the mood for some close to authentic Mexican food in Skåne (which does exist btw) try another place....
