Museo Casa Rusca — Attraction in Circolo di Locarno

In the spaces of the Art Gallery temporary exhibitions are staged regularly and display artworks by Swiss artists and artists from abroad. During exhibition changeover periods the Gallery is closed to the public. Reopening scheduled for September 8th with the exhibition of Sandro Chia.

This is a multi-story museum housing art works (in this case) from a single exhibition - today it was the artists Gilbert & George. The flow and logic of the exhibit's path throughout are easy to follow, and the explanations were in English, German, and Italian. There was a separate room for a documentary film about the artists. Staff were multilingual...

Très jolie bâtisse avec cour intérieur comprenant de multiples salles. J'ai pu y voir l'excellente exposition sur Gilbert & Georges, un bel assortiment d'oeuvre de ces artistes ces 15 dernières années.

Les oeuvres sont présentées par séries, on évolue d'une salle à l'autre, explorant diverses facettes et controverses actuelles traitées par le duo. Accrochage intense par moment, rigolo à d'autre, j'y ai passé environ une heure avec plaisir!

Seul bémol, toutes les explications sont fournies en introduction et on peine à s'en rappeler après...
