Very disappointing and does not live up to the standard it's meat quality and price suggest it should have.
We ordered tartar for starter and twice the Swiss premium filet for main course. We were barely finished with the tartar for entree, when the server asked if we wanted the steak already, because "it would come now already". Shockingly the meat arrived within 1 minute and it was handwarm, meaning it was sitting idle and ready to be served for minutes already, definitely not made fresh to order once you are done with the starter. For CHF 120.- for steak that is just outright unacceptable.
We pointed out to the staff that the meat is cold, and not warm anymore. Without even taking a second to understand what I even wanted, listening to me and letting me finish my sentence of what the problem is, the waiter grabs my plate and rushes off back to the kitchen. I wasn't even done telling him what the issue is, and that my wife's steak is also cold. After two minutes he came back, after having reheated my steak (you cannot reheat the outside if the inside of a medium steak is already cooled down, you only dry it out, and do not even reheat the inside, but that goes to show how incompetent their meat handling skills are). From preparing steak before it is needed, letting it cool down entirely before it was needed to be served, to reheating a cold steak for a minute thinking it would be a fresh proper warmed through medium steak.
Also once my steak came back it was an empty plate my sides were gone and never replaced or served again thereafter. That is what I mean with running around hectically, not thinking for a second or properly handling their business.
Only once he came back I could finally tell the waiters that my wife's steak is also entirely cold and they would again barely listen or try to understand anything, hectically running around and talking to people. Eventually they took back hers and made an entirely new one (as should have been done with mine as well). They failed to understand that they need to make a new one for me as well because it was still cold after reheating obviously. So I sat there and ate my cold steak, 10 minutes later I was done, my wife got a fresh new one.
The new fresh one was a lot warmer and hotter, confirming the initial steak was sitting on the counter until we finished our entree, and being served cold steak. Unacceptable and not how a proper steak house would handle meat.
The overall meat quality here is very good, that they messed this up is entirely on them and poor conduct.
Also one further note, if you run a fancy steak house with the respective high price tags, and even have a meat show-fridge in the entrance that is illuminated, you can at least renovate the restrooms. The toilets reminded me of a bustop toilet stall, or on an unmaintained highway restroom. Small shacks, with flimsy doors, poor hygienic inside, no paper towels, and absolutely unfit for this type of restaurant. Fortunately only I had to use it, I felt sorry for any woman that had the use the same small joint common restroom.
This could easily be a 5/5 restaurant, especially with the quality of the meat itself, but it failed so grossly on so many ends in one service and in regards that a steak house should not fail at that it is just a shame, but just poorly run...
