OMG. This temple is beyond amazing and beautiful!!! Was blown away by the level of artwork, craftsmanship and beauty. The most amazing part is we had the place all to ourselves!! Not another visitor to be seen. I just don’t understand. We walked from Juifen where we have been camped for the past two days. It took about 20 minutes and was delightful. The road takes you through a tropical jungle/forest with views of the Pacific Ocean every now and then. Walk around a corner and the temple structure comes into view and it is breathtaking in its detail. I asked where I could go to the one lovely lady I found and she indicated the access point and I was off on my own. Found an elevator and figured that it made sense to go to the 6the floor and walk down. Getting to the top of the elevator I found stairs going up and walked into pure beauty. Pictures will never do it justice. The top hall is carved gold leaf wooden walls and craftsmanship every where you look with a balcony offering up beautiful vistas of the ocean.

The town is charming but the temple I feel is the diamond that sadly seems to be overlooked. The town was packed on Sunday and Monday but not a soul to be seen at the temple. Sad but a...

This is an incredible temple. I have been to many temples many temples, and this is in my top 5. It is a magnificent, intricately crafted temple. The artwork is simply stunning. You also have a great view of the lush nature that surrounds. And as someone else mentioned recently, there is nobody here. There is not a single other visitor, and my mind it is truly mind-boggling. The town has many people, and I'm happy to visit in peace, but I am also confused as to why. It is clearly the gem...

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. We spoke to a Louis as he was tending the temple and he offered to take us around the temple for a personalized tour. Despite the temple being under construction, Louis was able to guide us to the beautiful parts of the temples upper floors and explain to us the significance of the structures in English. This was on of my greatest highlights in Taiwan and I am glad we decided to visit this...
