Old Street Seaview Homestay — Hotel in New Taipei

The location is great as it is very near the old street entrance, bus stops and next to a Family Mart. The room is okay except the TV was too loud even at the lowest volume, and a pillow that was too soft.

The most disappointing part was the check in process. The door to the premise is locked and you need to contact the host for him to open the door. We had arrived early and after contacting him, he led us to a narrow staircase landing to leave our luggage and said that our room should be ready around 3.30pm. While waiting for the room to be ready, I sent him 3 messages to ask if the room was ready, whether I could pay with cash and what the access code to the building was. The deluxe Seaview room has a spectacular view! Room is basic and comfortable. Located near 2 convenient bus stops, into and out of town. Hard to find location/entry. It's a door next to Family Mart entrance with a sign all in Mandarin. In very small print is the email address in English with Old Street Seaview in the name. Had to pay in cash after hotel asked for paynent through Line. Booked through Booking.com and website indicate free breakfast which consisted of 1x$50NTD voucher/person/day for use at Family Mart or 7-11. Not good!
