Vintage Thai Massage 2 Nimman Soi 5 — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

I burst out a cry during the massage and was not happy with the whole process.

I booked one hour foot massage and 1.5 h back massage. The first therapist had trouble understanding English which is fine, we used google translate to solve this out. But the problem is she didn’t use much power for massaging my foot as well as my back. I used the google translate for like ten times only for stronger pressure. I literally couldn’t feel any pressing. The communication frequency was high.

Then for the back, I bear the light pressure first but eventually had to ask for another massagist who can really help my back relax. The second one was better but still couldn’t find my back problem as I could feel a strong pressure but not in the right place, which was disappointing. Imagine me lying down for two hours without feeling comfortable the entire time. And for the reason I cried - she pulled me up backforward, which is a typical Thai massage method but not suitable for me, because I hurt my back during yoga and longtime work. So I asked her not to do this to me, but she insisted and wanted to do another one, I explained it to her, but she didn’t listen, holding my arm and ready for another one. I had to interrupt and shouted that I had a back problem and this pose hurt my back even more. I couldn’t help but crying. I again used google translate typing many words to explain. Why should all this be doing in the middle but not before the service begins? It’s ineffective and time wasting rather. Best. Thai. Massage. I've ever gotten. I felt compelled to leave a review after that great experience.

My masseue was Hana and she was lovely, attentive and spoke good English. My massage was the 1.5hr Thai massage with herbal balm for 500 baht.

I will note below the points which made the experience so heavenly

1. They accept card!! So many places don't accept card and I had just run out of baht. Leaving Chiang mai tomorrow, I didn't want to get slogged with another 10 aud atm fee just for a masaage

2. NO ELBOWS! Hana didn't use her elbows during the massage! I for one hate the use of elbows as it lacks finesse, control and just all around hurts my back. I understand why they sometimes need to use elbows but it's not for me. Without me telling Hana, she didn't use her elbows. It was all her hands, angles, fingers, palms, soles of her feet etc. And by God are their leg massages good as part of the overall Thai massage package. After walking for so many days? Absolutely heavenly. After the massage I actually feel good and not like I just left a muay Thai gym.

3. Not just a massage, but they utilised many stretches so that my whole body is loose and rejuvenated.

4. Great ambiance. So many sleazy and dirty massage places in chiangmai but this one was clean, smelt good and had the usual bells and whistles of nature and waterfall sounds, diffusers and mist.

WOW, I got the best massage from Yona here! My back has been hurting for the past month. I’ve gotten many massages to try to relieve the pain, and while it makes it feel better for a little while after the massage, the pain has always come back. Today I got a back-shoulder massage, and oh my goodness, Yona did magic on my body. She stretched and massaged my problem areas in my back and shoulders in it hurts so good kind of way.
