A lot of the reviews for here and the Cave helped us out a lot, but it took a bit of piecing it together, so I wanted to give a bit more detail. Many reviews suggested going early in the morning or late in the afternoon because of the heat, so we went around 5:30pm and it was light enough but still really hot in the trees and caves so I reslly wouldn't suggest coming in the hotter oarts of the day. If you want to visit the caves, start by walking through this walkway. There is a viewpoint tower worth climbing to see the top of the town and the caves. If you skipped it or will do it later, just keep walking, don't turn left as that leads out of the walkway. When you reach the end, there will be a clear path to the water, and you will likely be greeted by a man asking if you want to cross the water. He's a hard barter! He quoted us 300 for two people to cross and the return journey, but we could only get him down to 250. We didn't pay until he returned us, and in the end, he only charged 200 - not sure why! (Maybe he had no change) Don't pay hundreds more on the walk over, they quote more...
Read moreKrabi Urban Forest is such a peaceful escape right in the heart of Krabi! If you're into nature walks or just looking to spend some quiet time surrounded by greenery, this is a spot worth visiting.
The boardwalk through the mangrove forest is beautiful—clean, well-maintained, and easy to walk even for families or elderly folks. You’re literally walking above a tangle of roots and lush green trees. The sounds of birds and the occasional splash from the water below make it feel like a little world of its own.
Towards the end of the trail, there's a small lake that's absolutely stunning. It’s calm, scenic, and just the perfect place to sit and take it all in. The reflections of the trees in the water make for great photos, and you might even spot some small fish or crabs if you look closely.
There’s no entry fee, plenty of shade, and the whole area is super relaxing. We even saw a few locals kayaking nearby. If you're in Krabi Town and want a break from the beach or touristy spots, this is definitely a gem. Loved it and would totally...
Read moreA refreshing, cool, shady walk down a boardwalk through the mangrove forest. No fees, and not too many tourists. There is an observation tower with fantastic views of Krabi Town and the surrounding river and mountains. Lots of informative signage identifying different species and the ecological importance of mangrove forest systems. Most of the signs are written in Thai; I just used Google Translate. There is a boat at the end who will take you across the river or for a tour of the mangroves for a cost, though be forewarned that the initial sign to the forest advises tourists against using this service. There are apparently monkeys as well, though I didn't see any this...
