City Night Market — Attraction in Krabi Province

While i have been complaining about Ao Nang’s food all week - Krabi Town Night Market is a must visit. It serves very unique selections of local Thai food from various districts.

We couldn’t figure out which to choose, so we ended up having much more than we could fit in our stomachs.

The spicy fish and chicken feet noodle is so delicious.

The toasted cashews with caramel on a leaf was a first for me. The nuts were fresh and super crunchy.

The sausages and mooping were also amazing! We had curry noodles and some other snacks.

The star though - the pink pomelo. So sweet and fragrant! Amazing!

Oh we also had some orange and passionfruit juice as well as a pennywort juice (so bitter!! ) 🤣

Can Eat One Mehhh??? Yeap!! It’s a little far if you stay in Ao Nang - but it is...

This is by far the best area to eat in Krabi town. Fruit stalls at the front with some fantastic foods toward the rear of the market and on the right side also. The two "tourist eating places" surprisingly don't have many locals eating there. I have my local favourites, which make my taste buds tingle with anticipation when I'm there to eat. Fantastic food that engulfs a fire at times within your mouth - wow its good. Catfish and other fine tasting dishes can be found here. Big pots of hot and spicy foods can be found here, most for "family food" takeaway, but they have seating areas if you want to sit down and eat. This area is where I came across seafood suki (suki paste rocks!!!). Overall, cheap places to eat. Lovely...

I'd rate it 3-star if not for the vibe with the free stage and everything. We went on Sunday, and a trio of two girls with amazing voice and a guitar boy gave a perfect gig. Then came a hippie singer who knew how to cheer everybody up. The food selection was ok. The jacket potato was definitely a plus (not a typical food one can find in Asia), but the tempura in the neighboring stall gave me diarrhea. One tip: DON'T buy the readily cooked ones.

About transportation: we stayed in Ao Nang, and booked the trip from the agencies (200 pax) cos I read from the posts that Songthaews might have stopped after 6pm during low season. I'm not sure but when I left before 9pm (in early June), there were white Songthaews...
