I was cheated by the 4.8 rating on Googlemaps. This restaurant definitely cannot get a 4.8 rating. I would give it a 2 at most. The service was good, but the taste of the food was probably the worst I had in southern Thailand. The food was not fresh. The crab in the fried crab curry was not fresh and had a bad smell. The curry was dry and too little. The steamed shrimp had no taste at all. It was simply covered with some garlic slices and chili. The shrimp meat tasted like chewing wax. I had to dip it in the sauce again to barely eat a little, but I didn't finish it. The fried kale was very salty, but the vegetables were the freshest food. The papaya salad was also hard to describe. In short, no dish could get a 4.8 rating. When paying the bill, I told them the crab problem and the cost of this dish was refunded. I didn't finish the steamed shrimp either...
Read moreWhile visiting Krabi in May 2024, I was looking for Thai food with vegetarian options and came upon Racha's. The reviews looked great so we went. It was a little tricky to find because it is literally in the market so easy to miss. We enjoyed the pineapple and egg fried rice and a mango/dragon fruit smoothie -- DELICIOUS! We even were able to watch them slice the pineapple they used! The menu is great because it includes lots of photos so you know what you are getting which is especially tricky being a vegetarian. It also makes it easy to order despite the language barrier. The owner is super friendly and all of the staff were super attentive. Definitely...

Food: Tom yum goong (ordered less sweet) was fresh, delightful, good portion for 2 pax and tasted just right. I can imagine this being a more diet friendly tom yum in comparison with the other Tom yum in restaurants.
Papaya salad was nicely done, portion was sufficient for 2 people, there was not a lot of fish sauce in the salad which could be good for those who prefer less sour.
Service was good, no comments there. As a Malaysian who has TNG e wallet which partnered with Ali Pay (check for PromptPay), I appreciated the convenience of using digital forms of payment rather than cash.
As we came during the weekday, I found that this small restaurant is in the market, has many locals and I’ve not seen many tourists.
Recommend stopping by for a more local experience and...
