Walk into the market and you’ll find this place. I’m so happy I did.
I ordered a couple of my favorite Thai dishes, and based on the high ranking on Google I had high expectations.
So let’s start with the pad see ew (stir fried noodle dish). They offer a few different noodle options. I got the flat, wide noodles with pork. I used the condiment cart because I needed more salt and some spice. I added spicy fish sauce and the dry chili and it came out delicious! But then I grabbed the lime wedge and squeezed half of it over the food. This pulled some extra flavor out of the dish that I’ve never encountered before and it was AMAZING! This ended up being the best pad see ew that I’ve ever had! Some restaurants have a strange, almost musky flavor in this dish that turns me off, others have a more simple flavor, but this one just combined things perfectly and you could tell that the ingredients were delicious and fresh.
I also got the tom ka gai (coconut lime soup with chicken). There’s was a nice, subtle sweetness to this dish that was enjoyable. I bet this would have been even better if I got the prawn version. I took the remaining lime from my noodles and squeezed it in. I bet a drop of the fish sauce would have made this dish perfect for me but based on what I ate I’d still say it’s on my top 5 list of tom ka dishes I’ve had in the world.
The staff was also great. Added in a pineapple smoothie to my order and it was 180 THB total ($5 US, and I was full).
Overall I loved it here and might grab some more food...
Read moreIf you’re in Krabi Town and you don’t eat at Lan Lek Lek, you’re seriously missing out. This place is the definition of a hidden gem tucked inside the night market — and it’s an experience I’ll be talking about for a long time.
Family-run and now in its second generation, there’s a sense of pride and heart in every dish. You can taste the tradition and love that’s been passed down, and they’re already dreaming of handing it off to the third generation — which, honestly, is amazing to witness. There’s something really special about being served by people who genuinely care, not just about the food, but about the people they’re feeding.
The service? Next level. Warm, welcoming, attentive — like you’ve just walked into someone’s home. They were so kind, offering recommendations and sharing the stories behind the dishes. You don’t just eat here, you connect.
And the food… unreal. Bold flavors, perfect balance of spice and sweetness, and so fresh it’s like the ingredients were plucked from someone’s backyard that morning. Every bite was a reminder of why Thai cuisine is legendary.
Lan Lek Lek isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a piece of Krabi’s soul. Go hungry, leave full, and carry the memory with you for...
Read moreI had the Pad Thai Chicken here for 60 baht. The Pad Thai is done well, with a slight sweetness from the Tamarind sauce, but not overwhelming the other flavors.
If you are familiar with Wok Hey (a kind of fragrance from stir frying, a slight burnt aroma from the wok), then the Pad Thai here definitely has some wok hey, which can be difficult to find in Pad Thai sometimes.
However, it is slightly lacking in savory, does not taste much of saltiness. I personally prefer a little saltiness to pair with the sweetness from the tamarind sauce and sourness from the lime.
If you are nearby, it is worth a try. I am eager to try their Massaman Curry and Tom Yum Goong.
It is a family business operated by siblings, and the service is great. Very friendly and love to chit chat with the customer. The lady is good in English.
The atmosphere is comfortable, in a little shop within the Krabi...
