⭐️ Moldy rooms (cliff view, room 3412) The room smelled weird upon our arrival. On the third night of our stay, I woke up from an asthma attack. My asthma is rarely triggered; the conditions would have to be really bad for me to have an attack. By the fifth night, I woke up in the morning unable to breathe, with a headache, stuffy nose, nausea, and eczema breakouts all over my body. Upon closer inspection of the furniture and the headboard wall, I noticed tons of mold. The headboard wall (the one with the picture on it) had a terrible smell when you sniffed it closely. We requested a room change around 11 AM but had to wait until 3:40 PM for the new room to be ready. The initial time was 2 PM, but it kept being pushed back by 30-minute intervals. It was raining outside and quite cold, but we were forced to stay outside the whole day since I could not stay in the room. The new room also had some mold in it. ⭐️ Inconvenient Facilities There were other inconveniences, such as very dim lighting in the bathroom (the second room’s light was brighter). The temperature of the shower water was extremely difficult to manage — it went from ice cold to scorching hot without us touching the mixer. Moving the mixer even slightly caused drastic changes in temperature. The breakfast buffet had many choices, but nothing was particularly delicious. The omelette station had several toppings, and while the omelette and scrambled eggs were okay, they weren’t suitable for vegetarians because they were fried on the same pan used for ham. The chicken noodle soup was decent, but for me, it’s more of a lunch dish. The stir-fried noodles tasted awful, and all the cooked vegetables were equally unappetizing. The hot buffet offered Indian and Thai curries, which, again, weren’t ideal for early breakfast and were quite oily. The chicken curries mainly consisted of skin and bones, which was disgusting. The pool was unheated and so cold that we couldn’t even get into it. To make matters worse, other guests were smoking pot in the pool area. I also accidentally brushed my back against some flowers in the flower bed by the pool and immediately felt itching—either the flowers were nettle-like and sting or they were covered in ants that were everywhere in the pool area. ⭐️ Happy hour payment Regarding happy hour, while we enjoyed the cocktails and they were not watered down, the first time we ordered drinks, we paid in cash because we didn’t want them to charge it to our room. The bartenders took the money but didn’t inform us that we were actually not allowed to pay in cash. The manager told us when we tried to pay again after ordering a second round. We had to explain to the manager that we had already paid for the first round to avoid being double-charged, as the bartenders took the money but didn’t mark the drinks as paid. ⭐️ Overcharged on a tour The tourist information desk selling tours severely overcharged us. Although it’s partially our fault for not checking the real prices for island hopping in advance, we learned that a 4-island tour can be booked directly at the national park office for 600 baht per person. We were charged 1200 baht (initially quoted 1500 baht, but “if you book tonight, I’ll give you a discount”).
Pros (kinda): The only positive aspect of this resort is its location: it's close to the beach and the monkey trail. However, the beach itself is dirty, with wastewater flowing into the sea. Even if you swim further out, the water still smells bad. We had to spend an additional 200 baht per day to go to Railay Beach, which was much more enjoyable. I kind of regret not staying in that area instead. With all that said, this is probably the worst resort I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve traveled to nearly 20 countries, visited Thailand twice, and stayed in countless hotels, resorts, and home stays, but I’ve never had such a terrible experience. The only thing that somewhat brightened my mood was that I managed to get a deal through Agoda when booking the hotel, so I ended up paying $74 per night instead of...
Read moreI recently stayed at Sea Seeker Krabi Resort and overall it was a positive experience with a few mixed points worth mentioning.
The location is great—very pleasant and convenient with all street shops nearby, including a 7-Eleven right next door. This made it easy to access essentials and explore the surrounding area without any hassle.
Regarding the room, it was on the smaller side and felt a bit cramped for two people. The room’s layout lacks wardrobes, and the toilets face each other openly with the washbasin placed in the room without partitions. This setup can disturb anyone at night when the facilities are in use. However, the room does have a balcony, and some units offer nice views which add a pleasant touch.
The hotel itself is excellent in terms of service and facilities. It functions well as a resort with a great social environment, feeling quite international due to the diverse mix of guests. Check-in and check-out processes were seamless and efficient. There is a decent kids' play area, gym facilities, and proximity to major tourist sites and beaches within walking distance. Service response times were impressive, with orders typically arriving within 5-10 minutes.
The breakfast experience was less impressive, especially for vegetarians. The vegetarian breakfast options are quite limited, mainly consisting of big bean salads and a few other items. Given the medium to large number of vegetarian guests, this felt insufficient. It would be beneficial for the hotel to expand the vegetarian spread or at least improve the quality and taste of existing dishes. Rather than offering items just for variety’s sake, focusing on preparing a smaller selection of well-made, tasty vegetarian dishes would significantly enhance the dining experience.
However, there was one significant negative incident. On the night of our late check-in, we encountered a staff Name Nai who was extremely unprofessional and rude. This behavior notably detracted from the otherwise positive experience, especially when I was suffering from dehydration and requested beverages. The staff’s dismissive and sarcastic attitude was upsetting. Though this was disappointing, it would be unfair to judge the entire hotel by one person’s actions, as almost all other staff members were courteous, helpful, and friendly.
In terms of pricing, the resort offers good value. Given the location, services, social atmosphere, and facilities, the price felt very fair. Despite the room size being small, the overall experience and amenities justify the cost well.
In summary, Sea Seeker Krabi Resort is a solid choice for travelers looking for a convenient location, good social environment, and well-managed services. With some improvements in room design, staff training, and vegetarian breakfast options, the overall experience could be...
Read moreI have never given a 1 star before in my life but because of the hotel manager here it is for the 1st time.
I recently stayed at Sea Seaker in Krabi. The hotel itself is nice, my experience was ruined by the handling of a simple request at the buffet breakfast on my last day of the stay. As I had to catch the ferry to Phuket, I was not sure if there would be food available during the travel and moreover, being a vegetarian, I was so unsure if the food we get on ferry would be ok for a vegetarian or not. So, I attempted to pack a couple of croissants and toasts (a common practice I've encountered at many hotels worldwide), only to be denied in the most unprofessional manner.
Fair enough, but what followed was far from acceptable. When I asked if this rule was documented anywhere, the server without hesitation offered to type it there and then and print it for me. The situation escalated when I asked to speak with the hotel manager. What followed was the most shocking display of rudeness and disrespect I have ever encountered in my 15 years of traveling.
The manager started shouting at the top of her voice, insisting that the rule was standard worldwide, written or not. Her behaviour was utterly unprofessional and she seemed completely oblivious to the fact that several families were witnessing this heated exchange in the reception area. I urge the hotel management to review the video recording from 10:30AM to 11AM on June 12, 2024, to verify my claims.
Also she said that I was disrespectful. I asked her to call the person to whom I was disrespectful to which she said that you were disrespectful to the server at the restaurant as i didn't agree to what he said. I mean seriously.
Eventually after 5 mins of heated discussion, the manager said I could take the food, but by then, the damage was done. I chose to ignore her and walked away, thoroughly disappointed.
In stark contrast, during my subsequent stay at the Ramada in Phuket, they clearly communicated their policy against packing food from the buffet (image uploaded). This makes much more sense than the chaotic and disrespectful approach taken by Sea Seaker.
Overall, the lack of professionalism and the appalling behaviour of the hotel manager has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not recommend Sea Seaker to anyone who values respectful and...
