I have been to 5-6 night markets so far and this is by far the BEST! Variety of the food is more or less the same but it is more affordable. The only caveat is, unlike other night markets, they do NOT have price tags in seafood stalls and just charge you randomly. For example, the one I had shrimps (not lake prawns) SCAMMED me. He said big shrimps are 1000Bahts/kg while lake prawns are 300Bahts/kg. He quoted me 800 for 3 BIG shrimps that you see on the first row in the photo, said 500 is okay. Then they cooked 1 big shrimp and 2 tiny prawns of the size of my finger🤦🏼♀️And I have small hands!!! The market is good overall but avoid this place if you are having expensive seafood like sea prawns, crabs or lobster, Mimi, and do not want to be scammed! Attaching the photo for info.
Also, check the stalls at the end of each row. They generally have much much better price for the same food!
When you get in the building, you will see fruit sellers. Again, most do not have price tags. I asked the price of some fruits to a woman, she said 150Bahts. I wanted a bag to get some, while she went to get me a bag, a guy said 140Bahts, while he was away a young woman quoted 120 Bahts for the same fruit. I ended up paying 140Bahts😂It is already cheap, so I do not mind and bargain $1-$2 but it is...

There is also products from Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand, and there are some import from Malaysia and China.
As there is almost no local production or the production there is on Phuket is not sufficient to feed all the Tourist, most of the products are importet from other provinces. And almost all of the products are distributed from the main fresh market on Phuket "Phuket Down Town Market in Phuket town.
There is a large section with fresh fish and seafood, many of the fish seafood is kept in tanks and alive.
The meat section is more challenging for westerners as the meat is not refrigerated. But I buy my meat at the local markets all the time and have no problems with it, just remember to cook your meat so it is well done. The prices are more cheap than the...
Read moreBanzaan Fresh Market in Patong offers a vibrant culinary adventure for families and food enthusiasts alike. The market's unique concept allows visitors to select fresh seafood from the ground floor vendors and have it prepared to their liking at the food stalls upstairs. This interactive experience is particularly enjoyable for families, as it engages both adults and children in the meal selection process.
However, it's important to purchase only what you can consume to avoid wastage. The top floor houses various eateries where, for a fee—such as 40 baht per 100 grams at Mimi's Halal Seafood—your chosen seafood is cooked according to your preferences. A standout dish is the lobster with garlic butter sauce, which is both delicious and savory.
Overall, Banzaan Fresh Market provides a dynamic and interactive dining experience, combining the freshness of a traditional market with the convenience of on-site meal preparation. It's an excellent destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Patong's...
