Spice House Patong — Restaurant in Patong

While the restaurant's name don't give a clue of their Russian and Thai cuisine, wordings on the menu gave things away. Had the Chicken Consomme and Chicken Liver (can choose 1 of the 4 sides), followed by an Iced Coconut Coffee. Comforting soup for the wet afternoon. Chicken Liver don't taste exceptionally outstanding as a dish, but the taste was pretty delicious for each component of the ingredients.

I witnessed that the staff were attentive and gave a small snack (i think) to the parent who had a crying kid and the gesture was nice. When customers leave, they also promptly cleared table, spray and wiped it clean ready for next customer. High ceiling place, nice deco and ambience.

Price on menu is the total in receipt - no additional 3% credit card fees nor other charges. They did ask if I could scan the QR code and write them a review (no pressure not pestering, no gift in exchange which i think is good). I would have written this...

I have been coming to this place for years!!! It has always been tasty and I can get a clean and healthy meal here. However, the last time I came here which was end of march 2025 I got SEVERE food poisoning and I was 5 months pregnant. It was scary! I ended up in hospital. Thank GOD my baby and I are okay.

I ordered a fresh salad, salmon steak and steamed broccoli and potato vereniki. I think it may have been caused by the fresh salad, maybe washed in dirty water I don’t know. I hope this was a once off. As I said otherwise everything is great here and has been consistently good over the years, just terrible luck this time. I did reach out to the restaurant who acknowledged my complaint but didn’t really offer any compensation of the meal only to say they take their health and safety seriously and will review this. Today, we had dinner at Spice House in Patong, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff were kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and relaxing, perfect for enjoying a meal.

The dinner itself was good, with flavors that were well-prepared and satisfying. However, we did find the portion size of the pelmeni to be quite small, which was a bit disappointing, as we were hoping for a more filling dish. Despite this, the quality of the food was good, and we appreciated the effort that went into the preparation.
