芭东海滩 — Attraction in Patong

The beach and the water coupled with easy access to many shops and stores made Patong an ideal place to be. However, this area is a large tourist town and can get very crowded very quickly and stay that way for a long period of time. I remember waking up early one morning and walking down the street in Patong only to realize that it was the quietest it has ever been since I was there. I went back to my hotel and changed and my wife and I went for a walk to get some coffee only to find out that everything opened and all the tourists spilled out of their hotels and onto the street and beach. Great location. Decent sized, clean rooms. My only gripe is the female receptionist that was on duty on the morning that we arrived. Good morning im sorry but check in is at 2pm. We arrived at 08.30 after travelling for almost 18 hours.... all we wanted to do was have a nap and freshen up.... but no... she made us wait until 14.05 before telling us that our room was now available. Lots of plastic on the beach and noone seems to care to clean it. People just throw more on the ground because there already is some.

People also try to sell you activities no stop when you try to have a nice walk along the beach. If you just sit on your towel they'll still come up to you and want to sell you stuff. Even if you sit at the same place ever day the same people will come to you...
