Not just the Medical Museum
Hi-light: Journey back in time to the 'Rear Palace' and Thonburi Era by the rivers and canals, the old Thonburi railway station building itself and warehouses are stunning and well-preserved, the huge wooden boat is the must-see, and of course the story of Thai medical history, all are friendly designed.
Location: * At the Chao Phraya River bank next to Siriraj Hospital, easily accessible by taxi and public transport, the easiest way to go is by boat to Thonburi Railway Pier (N11) which is in front of the museum, by private car is not recommended due to parking difficulty.
Universal design: ** besides the parking problem, all areas are well equipped with universal design, included ramps, disabled toilets and automatic door lifts.
Cleanness: * the places are modified from the old buildings and warehouses, but all are clean with a good maintenance.

Once you step inside from the beautiful pavilion outside, the museum’s guards will guide (some might say hustle) you through displays that start out displaying the story of what lies beneath the museum—ancient Bangkok before its rulers moved it across the river and, much later, the old Thonburi train station. That includes a restored section of the ancient city wall. Then the museum jumps to a history of the hospital nearby and its royal connections, its departments, and a whirlwind introduction to modern medicine, both Western and traditional Thai. The exhibits then jump back to the ancient, including a cargo boat found beneath the station.
