Suay Restaurant, located at Tha Maharaj, offers a delightful dining experience that showcases the best of Thai cuisine in a picturesque riverside setting. The ambiance is charming, with a blend of traditional and modern decor, allowing guests to enjoy their meals while soaking in the stunning views of the Chao Phraya River.
The menu features a wide range of authentic Thai dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors. One standout dish is the "Tom Yum Goong," a spicy shrimp soup that perfectly balances sour and spicy notes, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. Another must-try is their "Pad Thai," which is cooked to perfection, with a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.
The restaurant’s service is exceptional; the staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, the outdoor seating area provides a lovely breeze, enhancing the overall atmosphere, especially during the evening when the river views are illuminated by city lights.
Suay Restaurant also caters to various dietary preferences, offering vegetarian options that are equally delicious. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of food and the beautiful location, making it a great choice for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy a nice meal.
Overall, Suay Restaurant at Tha Maharaj is a fantastic destination for those wanting to indulge in authentic Thai flavors while enjoying a beautiful riverside view. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is worth a visit for a memorable...
Read moreI have never written a review quicker. I just left this restaurant and it’s hands down the worst dining experience I’ve had in Thailand.
Service: the staff was extremely rude- visibly did not want to serve me- rolled their eyes, etc. the only thing I can think is because I was a solo diner and I didn’t want to sit outside in the heat so I sat inside which they only have large tables. Mind you it was not full, there was no line, I was not preventing any large group from dining. I waited almost 15 minutes just for them to come and take my order. As I ordered I asked my server “you accept credit card?” She said yes. Bill comes and they say “minimum 300 baht” which anyone who uses their brain would have known when I ordered that I wasn’t at 300 baht- or also would have disclosed that. I would have left. I rarely carry a lot of cash around- I know it’s Thailand and cash is king but that’s why I ask before ordering to avoid this. Terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend anyone subject themselves to it.
Food: I got Massaman Curry which was alright. Decent flavor and a good amount of chicken but it was watery and not as rich as Massaman typically is. Pricing was decent for the serving size.
Bottom line if they had a whole staff overhaul it would have been somewhat enjoyable. And they add a 10% service charge which I usually tip very well I don’t even feel they...
Read moreDelicious Thai cuisine, right on the river in the heart of Bangkok. There is also indoor seating for large tables and that is nice for air conditioning, but honestly unless it’s unbearably hot or it’s inclement weather, sit on the patio. There’s a breeze.
Huge menu. Everything we ordered was great tasting: papaya salad with tiny shrimp, fresh spring rolls, satay skewers with peanut sauce or other skewers with coconut milk—both were great. Tom Kha gai soup was flavorful and not too sweet. Crab curry was new to us but very tasty.
Servers are friendly but not very attentive. Just flag one down. They are pretty helpful once you can get them to visit your table. Probably the lack of attentiveness is because they’re young but it could be cultural differences or my expectations are unfair. Don’t let that stop you from having a feast and a great experience. We had all this food plus four canned sodas and steamed rice for about $55 (1850 baht) including built-in 10% service charge.
Located in a nice mostly outdoor shopping mall on the second floor. There are shops for browsing or souvenirs or dessert. And there are boat docks to take a ride on the river (and...
