Masjid Bang Luang — Attraction in Wat Kanlaya Subdistrict

Finally, we found a mosque for Friday prayer. The taxi dropped us at the road site, and we needed to walk narrow paths besides large drains. Winding narrow lane at behind houses about 150 meters. There is no signage or mineret or kubah to identify it. Small mosque about 20×100 square feet. The ladies' prayer is about 8x10 feet square. Inside is clean with marble tiles. Meet the imam. Bang Luang Mosque or Kudi Khao is the only mosque in Thailand constructed like a Buddhist temple. The highlight is the architecture of the reign of King Rama III, especially the gable decorated with stucco designs of peony flower or confederate rose. The centre is a image of a lotus flower that has the inscription ‘Allah’. My friend and I came to Bangkok and found new friends. One of them took us to her house and a mosque there. It located in a small road near Wat Arun (quite far actually).

I was amazed with its design looked like buddhist temple.

The mosque was not too big but it had air conditioner and fan. There's muslim cemetery behind and a building beside it used for teaching Islam to muslim children there.

I think I won't find it if I go there again...
