I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rongros, a charming Thai restaurant that comes highly recommended by the prestigious Michelin Guide. Situated by the tranquil river, Rongros is a hidden gem that captures the essence of Thai cuisine in every bite. Its cozy ambiance and picturesque location make it a delightful destination for those seeking an authentic culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's intimate setting. Despite its small size, Rongros exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, inviting diners to embark on a culinary journey through Thailand's rich flavors. The service team's impeccable courtesy and attentiveness only enhanced the overall experience. The gastronomic adventure began with a Glass Noodle Salad that featured a delectable blend of crab, pork, and perfectly cooked glass noodles. The medley of textures and flavors danced on my palate, leaving a memorable first impression. The dish was a testament to Rongros' commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Organic Chicken with Cashew Nuts was another highlight of the meal. The succulent chicken was impeccably cooked, complemented by the satisfying crunch of cashew nuts. The dish balanced sweet, savory, and nutty elements, showcasing the chef's mastery of Thai cuisine's intricate nuances. The Green Curry with Chicken was a symphony of aromatic herbs and spices, delivering a harmonious burst of flavors. The tender chicken soaked up the fragrant curry sauce, creating a dish that embodied the heart and soul of Thai comfort food. Rongros' Special Fried Rice with Prawn was a true revelation. The prawns were plump and juicy, elevating the fried rice to a level of culinary excellence that's rarely achieved. The dish was a perfect fusion of textures and tastes, a culmination of the chef's skillful execution and creative flair. What truly sets Rongros apart, beyond its exceptional cuisine, is its dedicated staff. Despite being fully booked, the team managed to accommodate my walk-in request, and their genuine hospitality made me feel like an honored guest. Their passion for delivering an outstanding dining experience was evident in every interaction, and they played an integral role in making my visit truly memorable. In conclusion, Rongros is a Thai restaurant that lives up to its Michelin Guide recommendation and then some. Its idyllic location, exquisite dishes, and exceptional service combine to create an unforgettable gastronomic adventure. For anyone seeking a taste of Thailand's culinary treasures, Rongros is an absolute must-visit.

Gem with Stunning Views and Authentic Flavors

Rongros in Bangkok is an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully combines authentic Thai flavors with breathtaking views of Wat Arun. Nestled along the Chao Phraya River, this charming restaurant is the perfect spot for anyone seeking a mix of delicious food, impeccable service, and a picturesque setting.

From the moment you step into Rongros, the vintage décor sets a warm and welcoming tone. Chandeliers, painted Chinese panels, and wooden furniture create a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The highlight, of course, is the terrace, which offers one of the most stunning sunset views in Bangkok.

The menu is a delightful exploration of traditional Thai cuisine. Standout dishes include the green curry with rib eye beef served alongside flaky roti, tangy glass noodle salad, and their flavorful pad Thai. Each dish is prepared with attention to detail and served with a perfect balance of spices. Don’t miss the spring rolls – they’re light, crispy, and incredibly fresh.

The staff are attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure your experience is memorable. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic evening, a family dinner, or a special occasion, the team at Rongros goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you want to secure a spot on the terrace. Watching the sunset over Wat Arun while enjoying a delicious meal is truly magical.

Rongros is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. With its inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide, it’s clear that this gem is worth every visit. For locals and travelers alike, Rongros is a must-visit for an unforgettable...

We came in at 11:30am. However we waited for 50 mins for the first dish to be serve to us. I see other tables that come later den us was alr served with food on their table. I highlighted to them after 40mins of us patiently waiting after sensing something is amiss cos not even my jasmine green tea come. Is my teabag of Jasmine green tea so difficult to make?! Ordered ribeye steak but it was overcooked. It wasn’t tender and was quite tough to bite. Cost me $550baht++ Quite disappointed with this dish. U guys know what? Upon all the food were being served, the jasmine green tea haven’t even come yet! 🫠 Den only when we wanted to cancel tat order as we were abt to finish our meals, they said cannot cancel cos they are making the green tea now. Inside my heart I was thinking does what kind of tea requires 1hr to make till I almost going to finish my meal. Den fine, I just continue with that order. 5mins later, den that green tea come. It is just a normal teabag from twining and it cost me $150 baht ++! Best part is I wanted to ask them refill hot water for the teapot, the staff say “Not free, charge 20baht” I am like shocked! I paid $150 baht for a tea tat I can’t even refill the water!? Den I said no thanks to the staff. After that the staff come back to me and said, can help me to refill for free. I am like wth is going on here. I won’t even bother to come back here anymore. Long waiting time for food even thought their customers not a lot cos it is a pretty small space and expensive for tat small...
