El Mouradi Hammamet — Hotel in Maghreb

I would describe my vacation like this - the first and last time in Tunisia. Let me start with the room, which is very old-fashioned, since it was built, nothing has changed in appearance. We had to ask the cleaner lady (of course with a tip) to vacuum the carpet because of the amount of dust that was in it, the curtains have not been washed for who knows how long. When the cupboards are opened, the boards behind have rotted from moisture, and on the main door is a drawing that I had for good morning because I am where I am (it is in the attachment). The bar next to the hotel works until late, so I couldn't even sleep because of the loud music. The POOL does not have enough sunbeds and umbrellas because this pool is used by two hotels. I spent an afternoon there, but I didn't like it there either because of the crowd and what I saw. Since their target group is their neighbors, who have 3 percent of home education in them, it was normal for them that their children eat and drink in the pool and still smile about it. The RESTAURAN, the food was ok, but the amount of food that was thrown away was disturbing for me. Ok that has nothing to do with the hotel it has to do with their guests who behave like that. But that's why, it's so ugly that I'm waiting in line for chicken, I am first in line and the chef starts commenting on me in Arabic with a colleague pointing his finger at me! So that the others get two or three pieces of meat, they put one in my plate and then move on to the next person. Now, I would ignore all above if one thing was right - THE BEACH! But I have never seen such a dirty private beach! Garbage as much as you want, the other day when there were jellyfish in the sea I took a stick and started to clean the beach from that amount of plastic. Part of the flip-flop was on the beach for 3 days, part of the flip-flop, 3 days! The sea is dirty, shallow because of waterski and too many jellyfish. Every sunbed is broken, and on top of that there is no shower, toilet or changing room. Private beach essentials. Coca-Cola has never been for me on the beach, and then I see their guests walking around with Coca-Cola. But the important thing is that their bartender didn't take the cigar out of his mouth for the 7 days I was there. The lifeguard who was cleaning the beach found a nail (pin) next to us and asked us if it was ours, after we said - no , he threw the nail back into the sand, on which someone could get hurt. All in all, a big waste of money and vacation days. For the same money, go to Greece, Montenegro or Turkey for the vacation you deserve, add a little more and go to Egypt, which is 100 years ahead of them in terms of hospitality. Or Croatia, Span, Albania or Italy. Oh and yes, if you are a female person who came alone with children on vacation or maybe a friend without a male companion, and you are thinking of a vacation in Jasmin Hammamet, just do not because of your safety! So, if I could, I would give 1 star, which is what this hotel should have, and not...

The worst experience of my life!!!!

My mum and I booked what was meant to be a relaxing week away to find that it was actually more stressful there and ruined our whole holiday. We have come home feeling very disappointed, stressed and disgusted at everything we experienced in your hotel!

1. When we arrived to the hotel (even though we were delayed 5 hours) it still took 2 hours to check in as there was no rooms ready. I Sat waiting in reception whilst you found a room and got it ready.

2. When finally arriving in the rooms, there was stained bed sheets, and long black hair on the bed, shower and toilet. (Pictures attached)

3. There were also no towels in the room so we couldn’t shower after travelling for 12 hours

4. When the maids took the dirty towels, they didn’t replace with new ones and when asked we were repeatedly told we had to wait till later. Even coming back from the beach covered in sand.

5. When the room was cleaned they didn’t leave more toilet paper or shower wash so had to go and ask reception before using the toilet

6. No hair dryer in the room

7. At the Private beach there was no beer after day 1, only soft drinks.

8. the Water tank was empty at the beach bar and had to ask and wait for it to be changed

9. Waited half hour in the line for food at the beach bar and there was nothing left when we got to the front and they didn’t refill so didn’t eat.

10. I saw staff taking the left over bread rolls from tables and what wasn’t eaten they would put back in the box for someone else

11. Have to Pay to use the gym (you refunded)

12. No air con in the gym it’s basically a sauna

13. Ants everywhere in the gym

14. No wifi in any of the hotel only reception and most of the time it didn’t work. I had to ask you to reset the router several times.

15. No running water to have a shower in our rooms! When the shower did work the water pressure was so low you had to wedge the switch from bath to shower up or it would fall down!

16. Not enough chairs to sit everyone in the entertainment area so had to stand sometimes.

17. The food was often terrible and not enough cooked for everyone so the only things left were rice and bread rolls! We had to eat out most days!

Me and my mum aren’t fussy. But this was the worst experience I’ve ever had.

The local taxi drivers said “4* here is 2* to UK” .. I’d give it a 1/2* at most!

Room 🛋️The room we got (268) looked decent, the furniture was older but everything was clean. The cleaning ladies came roughly every other day to clean our room. The hotel is rated 4 stars, but I would give it 3 instead. For example, I stayed in a much nicer and better hotel in Turkey that only had 3 stars. The hotel organizes daily activities and the animation team gets a solid 10/10. Food 🍗Their food is different from ours, it's not seasoned but it’s pretty spicy. I'm very picky when it comes to food, but I never was hungry. Staff 👤All hotel staff (waiters, cooks, cleaners) and those from the beach café (waiters, security) were very polite and always ready to help. I especially have to praise the waiters Karim Baccarri and Touhami Hajjri who are excellent at their job and truly deserve a advancement. Unpleasant experience ❗We had a unpleasant experience at the hotel exchange office (where we exchanged money and paid deposits for beach towels). When we got the towels, we paid a deposit of 20€ for two towels (we paid in euros because we didn’t have tunisian dinars). Later, when we went to return the towels and get our money back, they claimed we hadn’t paid in euros but in TND, and they gave us back 60 TND (even if the valute was 1 euro = 3.33 TND). Also, every time we exchanged money, the exchange rate was always rounded down (no decimals), so we kept losing small amounts each time.On top of that, we were also ripped off when they charged us the tourist tax — the contract said 12 TND per person, per day, but at the end we paid more than that. We didn’t want to argue with them because we were on vacation after all, but this incident left a really negative impression, they should have just said they didn’t have change instead of treating us like fools, especially because we chose to spend our well-deserved vacation at...
