A Hidden Gem, but Not Very Welcoming.
This museum has the potential to be a hidden gem, for more than many decades I never knew about it. You could easily spend hours exploring and learning about stamps, currency, and old money. It's free to enter, well air-conditioned, and even has clean, free restrooms.
However, the experience was dampened by a serious lack of lighting. I visited on a Sunday, and from the outside, it looked completely closed. Even once inside, I felt unwelcome. The person there didn’t even bother to turn the lights on, which made it difficult to fully appreciate the exhibits. Read morewent on a date here and it was fun. the place is just so modernistic and avant-garde that we just observed the exhibits in silence and astonishment at times. learning about the currency and its history together with him was an experience. it was completely empty so we had the place for ourselves with a mere guard standing outside. pictures weren't allowed but we took some anyway. you should go if currency or history interest you, or you just want to kill time since it's free...
Read moreOne of the specialised museums in the country.. It showcases the currency history of the country from phoenicians to post revolution.. You'll find foreign bills also and a collection of currency focused books!
I suppose that a good visid will take at least 1 hour :)
I don't appreciate the darkness and lack of light.. And in summer, be aware of the extreme cold inside the museum (you'll be literally freezed 🥶🥶)...
