We went there as a group of more than 50 people with a set menu. The menu that was sent to us prior to the dinner included a regular and a vegetarian menu. The vegetarian menu was supposed to be veggie soup, veggie rolls and couscous + dessert. First thing vegetarian people got served a chicken soup. I asked five different waiters if there was chicken in it because you could taste and see it, but everyone kept saying no. Obviously we couldn't eat it. Then we had the couscous with vegetables, and half (?) dessert. No one brought us the rolls at any point. (The people who had a regular menu also had a few problems with their dishes.) In the end, they wanted us to pay 29 euros (even if the vegetarian menu we agreed to was 23) for one soup we couldn't eat, some rolls we didn't get and a plate of cous cous that was good but not 29 euros good. We stayed there for more than an hour to try and fix all the mess it was made, but in the end we still paid way more than that dinner was worth because they couldn't manage the mess they created and we were tired of negotiating. The food was good, but the overall experience felt like they weren't professional (I'm a waitress, you MUST know what you're serving people) and they were trying to scam us making us pay way more than their original prices. Maybe they treat locals differently, I don't know. They had all the potential to make it a great night, but it was so frustrating and so expensive for...
Read moreI recently dined at a restaurant in Tunis with a group of 60 people. We had booked this reservation 15 days in advance, expecting a smooth experience for such a large group. Unfortunately, it was an absolute disaster.
First, they served meat in the vegetarian meals, which is completely unacceptable. When we raised the issue with the staff, the waiters were rude and hostile, as if we were the ones in the wrong. No apology or attempt to rectify the mistake—just pure unprofessionalism.
On top of that, the portions were shockingly small. Everyone in our group was still hungry after the meal. For the price we paid, we expected decent portions, but what we got was far from satisfying.
Considering we had made the reservation two weeks in advance, I would have thought they’d be more prepared, but it felt like they didn’t care at all about the quality of the service or the food.
I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially for large group bookings. Poor service, bad food, and a very disappointing experience overall. Avoid...
Read moreI saw tons of good reviews which probably set my expectations too high. Long story short: I left the place quite disappointed with my dinner.
The price is way above average for Tunis. I ordered couscous with lamb, unfortunately the amount of meat was very small. Well, the piece was ok in size, but most of it was just fat. To "compensate" that they put an increased portion of couscous itself. Shrimps dish were better, but still not the greatest.
Service was okay. Waiters don't really speak English, but we found a way to understand each other (it's totally fine, Tunisia is not an English speaking country, just to highlight).
Last but not least, the ambiance feels like a modern restaurant with ambition. If you are just a tourist passing through the area, you might be looking for more local /...
