Com Art Restaurant — Restaurant in Tunis

This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant.

It does proper Tunisian food prepared by Tunisians for Tunisians. In fact I was the only foreigner there both times I visited.

For lunch I had an enormous and delicious Ojja escalope (chicken based dish). The cost was a ridiculous 14 dinar/€4.20 plus 3 dinar for a large bottled of chilled fizzy water.

After such a huge meal, later for dinner I had a smaller Plat Tounsi (tuna and egg based dish) for 8 dinar/€2.40 plus again 3 dinar for the water.

The menus are in French rather than Arabic which helped my understanding!

I came here when I was walking around Tunis before a late night flight. It was the night before Eid and a lot of places were closed. I walked in and it was closed. However, the owner and his workers were enjoying a meal and immediately invited me to join them. They force-fed my delicious spicy macaroni, Tunisian salad purée and chicken. Kind service from the owner. Serving authentic Tunisian foods at a reasonable price. A bit of limited space inside the restaurant but if you could not get a seat you could also dine in the Sakrani's cafe. They have the same menu and when I have a cup of coffee in the cafe..
