And the (Health) website, concerned with scientific news, published 7 tips for getting a quiet sleep, adding that sleep disorders increase in the long term the odds of developing diabetes, depression, cardiovascular disease, and even weight gain, so it advised that you follow the following steps to get a quiet sleep. And deep.
Stop your evening habits
Drinking coffee or tea is one of the things that people do in the evening, and Dr. Joan Blake, a professor at Boston University in America, advises people to stop drinking caffeinated drinks, including soft drinks, coffee and tea after two o'clock in the evening, because the effect of caffeine extends for hours, and affects On the quality of sleep, and therefore we must stop taking it before a sufficient period of sleep, in order for its effect to wear off.
Stay away from alcohol
John E. Brown, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Maryland, USA, confirmed that drinking alcoholic beverages reduces deep sleep, and thus does not help a person get a good, calm sleep.
Hot bath before bed
If you want to relax in a basin filled with lukewarm water to get a quiet sleep, then surprisingly, a hot bath may make it difficult for you to fall asleep easily, because your body needs a certain temperature, in order to fall asleep easily; So, be sure to take a hot bath well before bedtime, according to Dr. J. Todd Arneid, Director of the Sleep Behaviors Program at the University of Michigan, USA.
Relax for 10 minutes
Meditation or yoga helps reduce muscle tension, just 10 minutes of deep breathing in a calm place, and natural and moderate lighting, enables a person to get a peaceful sleep.
The meditator sits in a comfortable position (squatting position), with the spine in an upright and comfortable position, and the head is perpendicular to the shoulders, and the more the spine is in an upright position, the easier the breathing process will be.
Set bedroom lighting
Sleeping in a room with dim light is a great start to get enough rest. The very bright light makes it difficult to fall asleep, because it is an indicator of the body’s biological clock, that the time for sleep has not yet come.
A full stomach disturbs your sleep
Eating a heavy meal late in the evening does not help a peaceful sleep, so if you want to avoid this, be sure to eat simple dishes at dinner, and stay away from foods rich in saturated fats.
Food that helps sleep
There are some foods that help improve or stimulate the sleep process, because they contain a large amount of magnesium, potassium, melatonin, tryptophan and serotonin, which contribute to relaxing muscles, such as cherries, bananas, lettuce, spinach, tuna, cabbage, oatmeal, warm...
Read moreI stayed here twice in early September. The first time was for two nights in a Deluxe Room with three adults. The room was spacious, with a king-size bed and a full-size bed. After checking out, we returned four days later. This time we had booked a Senior Suite, and at check-in we were upgraded to a Senior Suite with a jacuzzi. The suite had a living room and a bedroom, giving us plenty of space to relax. Each room had its own air-conditioning controls, which was very convenient.
The only disappointment was that, even though we were upgraded to a jacuzzi room, we couldn’t use the bathtub because the drain stopper was faulty. We reported it the first night and maintenance came quickly to fix it, but it broke again. We felt awkward calling them repeatedly, so in the end we just used the shower.
Another small downside was the bathroom amenities. The Deluxe Room had separate shampoo and conditioner, but the Senior Suite only provided conditioning shampoo, which left my hair feeling rough. I think having a separate conditioner would be better.
One inconvenience was that outside food is not allowed. There’s a wonderful bakery across the street, and I wanted to enjoy their bread in the room, but because of the rule we ate it outside instead. Perhaps because of this policy, the room service prices are quite reasonable. The club sandwich, for example, was 390 lira—large enough for two people and very tasty. The cakes at the lobby café were also delicious and cheaper than those at cafés outside the hotel.
The location is excellent, close to both the tram and the metro, with many affordable restaurants nearby. There’s also a shopping mall about a five-minute walk away with a supermarket in the basement, perfect for buying souvenirs.
On our last night we used the spa. In September they had a promotion, and the hammam was only $50. Thanks to Ms.Dilek’s careful treatment, I was able to completely relax.
If I have the chance to visit Istanbul again, I would definitely stay at this...
Read moreSubject: Complaint Regarding the New Receptionist’s Behavior
When I came to the gym that evening, I noticed a new woman at the reception. I was really kind to her, asked her name, and even said it was nice to meet her. Unfortunately, my experience quickly turned disappointing. At 21:50, the new receptionist came and asked us to leave because the gym was closing. At 21:55, while three of us were still inside changing, she even turned off the lights. It was the first time I have ever seen someone close the lights with customers still in the changing room. This showed no respect at all — she was only worried about her own time. I even told her that in all the years I have been here, I have never seen this kind of behavior toward customers. She replied that there is a “rule” we must respect. But this rule was changed only a few days ago, and there were still five minutes left before closing. On top of that, just one day earlier, hotel guests were allowed to stay until 22:30. So what kind of respect is she talking about? Aren’t we also humans and paying customers? I want to make it clear that I like this gym very much — this is already my third year choosing you. The pool is always clean, the sauna is maintained, the ice is renewed regularly, and the cleaning staff are always kind. However, about the new receptionist, I must complain. This is not the first time either. On another occasion, my friend wanted to change her bracelet, and I was trying to help. Because my Turkish is not perfect, she raised her voice at me. I tried to excuse her behavior then, telling my friend maybe she didn’t mean it that way. But after this recent experience, I am completely disappointed. I kind ask you to take this matter seriously. Customers come here to relax, not to feel disrespected or stressed by the staff.
Thank you for...
