Boim Chapel — Attraction in Lviv Urban Hromada

Amazing place.The chapel was built for the Boim family on the territory of a contemporary urban cemetery near the Latin Cathedral. The Boims came to Lviv (Polish: Lwów, then in the Kingdom of Poland) from the Kingdom of Hungary. Their national origin is unclear.2] They were affluent patricians of Catholic background and became polonized.[3

George (Jerzy) Boim (Hungarian: György Boym) is credited with the foundation of the chapel.[2] The building was finished by his son, Paweł Boim. 14 members of the Boim family are buried there.

The chapel was designed by Andrzej Bemer.[3] He followed a simplified diagram of the architecture of the Sigismund's Chapel at the Wawel Cathedral in Kraków with Italians' elements.

Це той дивовижний випадок,коли за 100 гривень за вхід,прорвавшись через поріг: застигаєш від здивування- це все?!.А потім розумієш,що походити цікавими коридорами і загубитись на годинку не вийде,то задравши голову вверх,дивлячись на барельєфи,думаєш,це так гарно,що вродє і не страшно,що розвели на гроші,особливо,якщо ви сім'я і за кожного заплати.Із цікавого: ця усипальниця єдина із старовинного поховання,що раніше до Личаківського цвинтаря було на площі ринок,поховання Боїмів перенесено на Личаківку( цікаво знайти їх там,і чи говорять про це на платних екскурсіях ).Надпис під статуєю Христа говорить:" перехожий зупинись і подумай,чи дійсно твої страждання більші,ніж мої".Влучно. Чи варто відвідати- так треба відчути цей вайб і побачити пам'ятку...
