CHEESE BAKERY 2.0 — Restaurant in Lviv Urban Hromada

It’s not the first time I’ve been to this place, but today something unexpected happened. I arrived at around 11:40 AM, and at the entrance, I was shown the two tables at the front. I asked if it was possible to sit in the main dining area as I always do, but I was told again that only those two tables were available (I glanced into the main room and saw that there were free tables). I accepted and sat there.

After about 15 minutes, I managed to place my order, and in around 10 minutes, my food arrived. During this time, several people came in and asked if there was a table available in the main dining area, and they were accommodated without any issues (they had no reservations, just like me, so don’t make up excuses).

I finished my meal, and at around 12:10 PM, a waitress approached me and told me that, due to policy (where is this policy written? And more importantly, shouldn’t it be mentioned before seating someone?), I couldn’t stay at the table for more than an hour if I wanted to use my laptop.

Now, I’d really like to understand: what’s the difference between using a laptop and being glued to a phone for hours, like 90% of the people there?

Have you perhaps become racist towards foreigners? The same foreigners who welcomed you into their countries, supported you militarily and economically? Maybe you should learn to respect your customers a bit more because what happened today was truly...

Everything is great about this place. A little hard to figure out how to get in, if you don’t read Ukrainian, but there is a buzzer and a small sign at the street level. Once you are inside, it’s very clear where to go. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were full when I first went, but they wrote down my mobile number and called me when a table was available. I expected a vast and busy dining area when I got inside, based on all the great reviews, but it was a very cozy room with just 10-15 tables. Maybe I only saw one of the rooms? In any case, it was very chill. Despite the wait, the tables were full of people taking their time and enjoying themselves, with no rush from the waitstaff. People were working on laptops, conversing, taking pictures of their meals, and some were eve eating. The view is a great second floor overlook of Rynok Square. The coffee was very good and the cheese pancakes were delicious. It will take a few visits before I can order anything else. I can’t imagine coming here and not...

Дуже багато посмішок, під час розмов та поки ти сидиш у телефоні. Люди дослідники - вони розбирають страви, їхні складові, оцінюють їхні смаки, дивляться один на одного та кивають - адже те, що вони щойно скуштували - це дуже смачно. Легке напруження перед тим, як страва попаде до тебе на стіл, проте щойно перший шматочок торкнеться твоїх вуст - ти наче божевільний тягнешся за іншими шматочками допоки на тарілці не залишиться й крихти. Крізь приємну музику проривається сміх, теплий гомін та стукіт приборів. А хтось, так як і я - сидить за ноутбуком та активно друкує - дуже сконцентровано - відчувається, що людина в процесі і в неї несеться потік думок. Деякі столики порожніють проте одразу на їхнє місце приходять інші. З червоними від морозу щічками, ти поспішаєш зняти свій верхній одяг і поринути в роздуми що саме сьогодні ти хочеш смакувати. Ось гавкнула собака і всі як один обернулися на шум, зрозумівши що це гарний пес, люди повертаються до своїх розмов та страв. Тут не боїшся бути один чи великою компанією, чи з коханою людиною або ж всією сімʼєю, тут всі почуваються у затишку. Чи прекрасна дівчина, яка прийшла за своїм улюбленим макаруном з сиром горгонзолою чи я - котрий прийшов дослідити нове для себе місце. Я відчуваю як мене наповнюють сила, щастя та легкість. Цей заклад, до речі, знаходиться в історичній будівлі Львова на 2 поверсі, піднятися до якого можна лише сходами. Проте навіть величезна валіза не буде перешкодою для людей, які як і я прагнуть відчути цю атмосферу. Дивлячись на людей - розмивається значення хто вони - адже ми всі тут - це гості цього закладу. Та раптом прийшло усвідомлення - що сама Діва Оливка, а зараз доросла Алевтина теж в цьому закладі. Це таке дивне і вражаюче відчуття, розуміння що люди яких ти вважаєш прикладом розділяють спільні справи - суботня робота в закладі, в класному закладі.
