Alright, so - if you're new to Lviv, you need to go visit this place, if only to see the interior of each room and to check out the crazy stuff they got on the roof.
That being said, if you've already seen each room - this place is NOT worth going to for lunch/dinner, ESPECIALLY during tourist seasons, holidays, or even the weekend. The layout of the restaurant is incredibly uncomfortable for guests and waiters alike - it's very skinny, with 4 stories and 2 stories on the roof, plus one narrow winding staircase to navigate the whole premises. What this means is that during the tourist peaks you are going to be fighting through crowds on the staircase just to get to a place to sit down - since each room is fairly small, you might have to do a bit of searching to find an empty seat. Then you have crowds of people coming in and checking out the room, disrupting waitstaff and generally causing a nuisance. If you're up top on the 1st story of the roof, you might have coins bouncing off the umbrellas covering your table and landing on your shoulder (which can be surprisingly painful, or annoying if they fall into your drink).
Beyond that, the food and drinks aren't anything special - neither cheap, nor delicious, nor thematic (I mean, they have thematic names sometimes but that's about it). Really, the best part of this place is the interior design, the souvenir shop (which has daily sales around 9:15ish on weekdays), and one or two of the funny "guards" that can tell you about the legends of the city (in Ukrainian or Russian, of course).
In any case, it's worth a visit, but I can't recommend actually eating there beyond visiting the first (and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I visited here for dinner during our trip to Lviv and I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for someone with good service, tasty food, and reasonable prices.
We were seated right away even though it took a few moments to figure out where the actual restaurant was located in the building and the room where we were seated had a quirky design and plenty of cool trinkets to check out before ordering our food.
The waitress came right away with English menus and less than 10 minutes after arriving we were already starting are appetizers.
We tried quite a few different things on the menu and everything came out perfectly cooked and tasty. The waitress was very attentive and quickly cleared the table as soon as we were finished eating.
There's a small Cafe at the top with an incredible panoramic view of the City Center of Lviv so make sure to head up there if you're visiting during the warmer months for a nice coffee drink.
I would definitely recommend checking out Dim Legend if you're in Lviv and looking for a great...
Read moreAs a few reviews have mentioned, the restaurant itself has closed down and the rooms inside are all empty. It is still possible to go up to the roof and have a drink, but service is almost non-existent - the staff doesn't seem to care whether you are there or not. Once we did manage to order, we received a bottle of tonic that had been left out of the fridge in the middle of the heat wave - it wasn't only lukewarm, but genuinely HOT. (Hot tonic: there's a reason it isn't a popular drink)
The view from the top is nice, but it's anything but a quiet place to have a drink - you'll have to deal with dozens of selfie-taking people pushing their way across the terrace while you are there.
To end on a positive note: the toilets are...
