Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art — Attraction in Odesa Urban Hromada

This museum is a peace of architectural art - small and modest but still has a glimpse of bygone centuries of the dawn of the intelligentsia. Outside of the building looks like a merchant's house, on the ground floor there is a marble staircase decorated with cupids. Collection of Eastern art resembles as simple souvenirs and only a few peaces are worth attention (carved in wood coasters and chairs). Nevertheless, the second floor really conveys the color of previous centuries and opens up space for our fantasy. Being there, I completely disconnected from the outside world and was transported to those days... In the main hall instead of just taking videos I wanted to dance a waltz. Again, the paintings on the second floor were mostly very gloomy and only a couple of them "were able" to got my attentiveness and catch my eye for a very long time and so to give me the pleasure for which I came. Tickets were very cheap (70 hryvnyas usual and 30 for students) and our visit...

A couple of roads down from the Opera House, on Pushkins’ka Sreet is a compelling art museum in a noble sky-blue mansion from 1858. The museum was founded in 1923 and its art comes from a mix of private collections and pieces assembled by Odessa’s university.

The name is a little misleading, as apart from a some porcelain, weapons and pieces of furniture nearly all the art is from western Europe, mainly the Netherlands and Italy.

There are paintings by Caravaggio, Rubens, Francesco Guardi, Gerard David and Abraham Bloemart.

Maybe the standouts are the two “tronies” of the evangelists St Luke and St Matthew by the Dutch Baroque...

Было информативно! Я потратила на основную выставку два часа, и ещё два часа потратила на Античность и Восток. В Гобелены уже не попала, к сожалению, но сам факт — смотреть есть на что. Помещения второго этажа поражают своей отделкой, музей выглядит восхитительно. Я зашла и какое-то время просто смотрела в потолок. Приятно, что в каждом помещении стоит подставка с карточками, где описаны (на разных языках — выбирайте любой удобный) история создания или значение сюжета конкретной картины. Также вы сможете там же почитать основную информацию о той или иной эпохе живописи в разных странах. Помимо живописи имеется масса интересностей: скульптуры, мебель, ручные изделия (вазы, посуда, шкатулки, веера и пр.) Короче, один день уделите, если хочется приобщиться к искусству и идите! 70 гривен за общий билет, включающий все выставки — это не деньги. Там и экскурсия есть за 100. Я её не брала, так как предпочла осмотреть всё в своём темпе, но, думаю, это было бы очень интересно, да и узнала бы я намного больше, чем из карточек. Временные выставки также заслуживают вашего внимания! Музею есть, что предложить. Смотрительницы тут — милые женщины, всегда подскажут, где что и как лучше, куда идти, ответят на какие-то вопросики по типу "а вот какая картина у вас тут самая древняя?" 😄 Получила хороший опыт и...
