If you are considering moving to the Leaf Tower on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, DON’T. Read this before you decide.

I moved to this building in Q1 2022 with so much hope in this building for its overall quality of finishing, location, facilities, management, location and more importantly noise level. It was all that for a few months, until the construction of a mysterious industrial size complex started exactly next to the building across the road in Q2 2022.

The facility appears to be a crypto mining rig with over 600 cooling fans (see photos). These fans are running 7/27 and producing a loud humming noise audible from any unit on any floor of the building. The noise comes through the windows and is more obvious between 7pm and 8am every day. Soundproof curtains do not stop the noise in case you are considering this.

I have reached out to the building management to raise a concern about this noise hazard, but they have offered no help. At first they pretended they know nothing about it but then later they said the noise is an acceptable level noise.

There are several other issues such as constant AC failures, leaking pipes in various places, slow elevators, sanitary issues throughout the building that I will not get into details for now. The noise issue is my biggest health concern to the point that I am planning...

I initially planned to rent an apartment in this building but, thankfully, I didn't.

The rental procedures were overwhelmingly frustrating.

After a week-long wait just to view an apartment, I was met with numerous fake promises about the support they would provide, especially knowing my tight schedule to move before Ramadan.

Upon finally viewing the flat, I was informed that I couldn't actually rent it unless I also accept the existing tenant's furniture. This was never mentioned prior to the viewing. As Ramadan began, they introduced another unexpected condition: if I didn't take the current furniture, I would have to accept a fully furnished apartment with an inflated rent, jumping from 80 to 135.

Moreover, when I asked about necessary maintenance before moving in—since the broker already arranged the furniture sale—I was only met with more excuses.

Overall, the management showcased unprofessional and deceptive practices, causing unnecessary stress during a critical moving period.
