Poor quality , flavorless Indian food at high prices:
Why bother to have high priced , flavorless Indian food at a food court when you can enjoy a 5 star quality experience one level downstairs at a place like signature by Sanjeev kapoor at comparable prices that offer ten times more value for money.
Today I visited Bombay canteen and had their ‘smoked eggplant (baingan) bharta which , unlike what the description said, was NOT smoked and made in a cooker or utensil and had an over abundance of masalas. The taste was not authentic. It was actually devoid of flavor and just had too much masala. It was a horrible experience.
The multi grain paratha is just the regular lacha paratha with some grains thrown over it - it does NOT use multigrain flour ( again , the name in their description is misleading ). Buyer beware : it is not multi grain atta ( flour) and the name is misleading. Just throwing a few grains on top of a regular paratha does not make it multi grain.
The saffron paratha was also very average. Just adding lots or turmeric ( giving it a yellow color) and very little saffron does not make it a ‘saffron paratha.’
The Dahi puri was average - not up to expectations
The names of the dishes is buffoonery at its best.
The service by the Filipina lady needs drastic improvement. She needs to learn some customer service skills; she needs to learn to smile and greet customers.
Will not come again. The cost was 70 aed for one dahi puri, baingan bhartha and 2 paratha for a basic food court experience.
For that price , I can have a much superior quality meal and top notch experience at a 5 star ( like signature by Sanjeev kapoor one level downstairs in galleria mall) at a reasonable price ( e.g. 75 aed for one main course and 2 parathas with Zomato pro discount). They serve amazing complimentary spread of chutneys and papad etc. and their main course is very high quality , generous portion size , incredibly tasty , reasonably priced and food and service is top notch.

Bombay Canteen is hands down one of my favourite go-to spots in the city. The food here is nothing short of exceptional.
We tried a variety of dishes — the biryanis were flavorful, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The chaats reminded me of India in the best way possible.
Their frankies were wrapped with just the right amount of stuffing and spice, and the momos were juicy and served piping hot with flavorful chutneys.
One of the highlights for me was discovering they serve Kombucha – a rare and refreshing find at an Indian eatery.
The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff ensured we had everything we needed. The menu has something for everyone – whether you’re craving a comforting biryani, a light salad, or street-style Indian snacks.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Indian flavours with a modern touch...
