Rosewood Abu Dhabi — Hotel in Abu Dhabi

Grand old hotels have a sense of arrival. After long journeys, a welcome into a world of grandeur embraced travellers. It is hard for modern hotels to achieve this, but Rosewood Abu Dhabi does. From the moment one arrives and steps from the air-conditioned S-class Mercedes that whisks one from Dubai into the grand lobby of Rosewood Abu Dhabi, there is a sense of having arrived. Courteous staff immediately take care of your requirements as you are escorted to your room. Glimpses of art and chandeliers combine with the colours and textures of your surroundings, making a statement that this hotel pays attention to detail. I stayed in suite 1413, which offered stunning views across to the dome of the Louvre and the newly constructed Guggenheim Museum - the super yacht Nord was also visible, which only made the tantalising dream of being rich beyond the dreams of avarice more unlikely. The suite was extensive, with a separate drawing room and bedroom (as a suite should be), a large entrance hall, a cavernous bathroom and a sizeable guest toilet - modern grandeur as a real five-star property should offer. Personal touches that Rosewood does include a photo frame by the bedside of a tragic internet-captured photograph of yours truly, as well as welcoming gifts of a keffiyeh and a variety of scrumptious dates. Room cleanliness was perfect, with turndown service doing more than just folding down the bed; the room was refreshed twice a day, water was replenished without asking, and a comment that I liked chocolate saw a daily renewal of handmade morsels that guaranteed I needed to make my daily 6 am swim in the hotel's beautiful 28.4-metre swimming pool. Access to the Manor Club gives guests a peaceful lounge where snacks and food are available throughout the day - in the evening, an almost full-service menu is available. Service throughout our stay was perfect, from arranging cars to booking restaurants and organising tours for first-time visitors; nothing was too much trouble. A late request for a table at Em Sherif, the hotel's fine dining Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine restaurant, provided a perfect table with exemplary service and exquisite fresh seafood and other Lebanese taste sensations - it is a must-visit destination regardless of which hotel you are staying at. Rosewood Abu Dhabi is blessed with great architecture, beautifully curated interiors, and a professional team of staff who understand the essence of service. As someone who’s staying at the hotel for a month, I’ll share my experience and the services I’ve received over the past week or so.

To start off, the check-in process was quick and easy. I do not recall her name, but the lady helping with the check-in process was great. In fact, over the past 1.5 weeks I’ve been here, everyone I have come across in the reception have been very welcoming and pleasant.

The daily room services have been on par with what you would experience in many other hotels at the level of Rosewood. A few minor issues such as complimentary water being forgotten at times and the TV not working, but I would say these are minor points and can be offset with some of the other good services the hotel has to offer.

An awful experience I’ve had was during breakfast. As someone who does not tolerate dairy, I have requested for a serving of scrambled eggs without any addition of milk, cream, or butter, and have emphasised this point to the waiter a couple of times as I understand it can be forgotten (as various types of eggs were something you could order off the menu, I hope I wasn’t asking for something unreasonable). As I received the eggs, it appeared rather creamy, hence I asked if it has no milk, cream or butter added, and the response I received was that it was prepared plain with nothing other than a little bit of oil added. After going through half of the eggs, I didn’t feel well, and after notifying the waiter, I rushed back to the room. There were some other minor flaws to the service as the table was missing a folk and the water cup I was given was not replaced after being used by the previous user, but I believe these are just minor points that you can get around by communicating with the person waiting the table.

Overall, had I not experienced the breakfast, I believe the hotel deserves a solid 4.5 stars, and I hope the experience I had during breakfast was...

I recently stayed at your property and booked a room with Manor Club access, which I’ve always enjoyed at other Rosewood properties. Rosewood has been my favorite brand for its elegance and impeccable service, which is why I was quite disappointed during my recent visit to your Abu Dhabi Rosewood. ||||I’d like to share my concerns in the hope that we can resolve this and enhance the experience for myself and future guests.||||Firstly, I was excited about the benefits that come with the Manor Club access, particularly the exclusive breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening canapés. However, I found that the breakfast offering in the Manor Club was not only disappointing but also inferior to the usual spread available in the main guest restaurant. This experience left me wondering why I paid a premium for the Club Lounge access when the service did not meet the high standards I have come to expect from Rosewood.||||Additionally, I did not receive the customized room amenities or the luxury in-room bath products mentioned in the service description. These were part of what drew me to opt for the Manor Club package, and their absence was a noticeable oversight.||||To further complicate matters, I had specifically requested a quiet room during my booking. However, I was placed on the 8th floor above the pool bar, and the noise from the bar was disturbing throughout my three-night stay.
