An absolute waste of time and money. Visited the Aya Universe on 24th September with a family of 6 people. Absolutely there was no engagement or interactiveness in the 12 shows between Visitor and the room theme. It's just a mere sound and light show with the mirrors all around.
One day prior I went to Team labs Phenomena,Abu Dhabi and every single room had a theme where there was an user engagement and relatable. The User experience was best there. In contrast , here I did not find anything that could engage with any of the age categories of Child, Youth or adult. A bunch of 100 odd school children who were brought as a group spoilt the very minimal engagement as well and was spread all around the zones and staff was pretty much concentrated and focussed around them since it was Bulk Business.
There was a final room of balls where there was an Tall African staff who was highly rude to the visitors which included senior citizens who were standing in a line for close to 8 minutes. Instead of letting people in who were standing in queue, he brought a bunch of students bypassing the queue to be let into the room. When I enquired on why he did so bypassing the queue, his reply was very rude. Then when our time came to visit he wanted us to keep all the things in hand in a shoe rack and enter the room. We kept everything except the passports and the same gentleman who refused to give his name did not permit us to visit until passports are kept in shoe rack. Couple of our family members stayed back due to his indifferent behaviour . While my kids were playing , my wife was watching from the side bars and this gentleman then came and asked her to either get into the play area and move out of the room. Again school children were given more priority as it's Bulk business for them.
This single person destroyed even the minimal experience that Aya's show offered. This feedback was also detailed out to Aya's office staff. The tone and tenor of that African staff member was disrespectful, does not know how to behave with the visitors and that too senior citizens and does not seem to anyway rhyme with the extremely good hospitality , culture and respect that was offered all around UAE during my travel.
Not worth spending 1 hour time and money. Exact inverse experience of what I admired in Teamlabs Phenomena in Abu Dhabi.
Definitely worth missing it in Dubai. Not one show engaged with the audience. Not even able to take a good picture of the theme in room with so much children running around.
Highly surprised of the high...

Read moreMind blowing in so many ways. It's a series of themed rooms based on nature and space, sound, colour and light.
Each room appeals to your senses and provokes your imagination.
I especially loved Harmonia, the first actual room you enter after the reception area. It's a mirrored room, very brightly lit, with lasers, throbbing music and it changes colours to alter your perception. It's overwhelming in the very best way and I love when the lighter colours come on how it seems misty. Stay and take it all in...
My other favourite room reminds me very much of Pandora from Avatar. It's an LED garden, with a massive Tree of Life at the centre and it's so beautiful, you can touch the 'plants' but gently and sensuously. The plants change colour in interesting patterns and the experience is very emotional and sensual.
You get a passport at the beginning with stamps to attach to each page as you explore the rooms, like a scavenger hunt through nature. I was so fascinated that we both completely forgot to check which symbol belonged in which room.
My next favourite was the hall of mirrors. OMG it was so beautiful but confusing, I had no idea where the exit was but happy to stay because I was once again totally overwhelmed, the technology is beautifully used to enhance the whole experience.
Please go, it will blow your mind and you can stay as long as you like, it's not a guided tour even though there are guides to help you find the next room. You are welcome to revisit any or all of the rooms during your visit.
I don't want to give away the secrets, you need to go and find your own favourite rooms, there is so much for...
