Not cheap, not cheerful. Price is height dependent so you will pay adult prices if you are lucky enough to have a tall seven year old. Nowhere on the website does it state that rides are not in use or being fixed etc so you find out when you arrive. We actually got informed of the ride closures by the second member of staff to serve us. The first had trouble issuing our wristbands. But what can you do once you have travelled miles and miles to go out for the day.. say, "actually, due to these 12 rides not running, I'll turn around and go all the way home with these two girls who I've Brought out for their birthday treat" .... ???
Further to this, the price of food was ridiculous for what you got. £4 for a small tray of chips that looked burnt.
Costa on sight didn't accept costa points, toilets were locked and when i asked for the key the staff didn't have one. I was told to use the main facilities. They didn't even use the coffee machine, they used a vending machine to make the coffees and other drinks. Yet there was a massive line to be served. Worst costa i have ever encountered.
Overall the site was clean and tidy. The rides that were open looked safe and well attended. But the only other thing i will add is when the staff went on breaks they shut the ride down instead of getting cover. Which was a tad annoying for those who had already spent an age in line to get in. Something i noticed across the whole of the day.
The toilets were "ok". I've seen worse! But something to note was there was the option of a shower. Something I've not seen before in public toilets.
I believe you can bring your own food and drink into the park - not alcohol (for obvious reasons!) so i suppose the cost of food within the park can be your own personal choice. But kids will be kids (even the grown up ones!) and demand their seaside treats that will cause you to have to dig deep!
We visited on a sunday and there was a market on alongside the park. We took a stroll through here to kill some time as the kids had been on all the open rides that they could in less than an hour so most of the day was spent going in circles.
I don't think I'll be returning again. Not for the price. £5 just to get inside and best part of £30 for a child to ride as she was over their height limits for a "child" (x2 as we took a friend) seems a bit steep. I feel I've BREAN a...
Read moreWhere do I start with this place. Firstly don’t go!! For the reasons I am going to outline.
Firstly we entered the park with the resort wrist bands. They allowed us to queue for 30 minutes to buy your entry pass for £5 which you can then use on the rides. When we got to the front of the queue we were told we needed wrist bands and that we can to go to on-site bar as the theme park is a separate company. At this point I decided to leave as the park staff were so rude. However my mum knew the children wanted to go so she went to buy wrist bands and then put £140 on two different spend passes. We were told the wrist bands would be fine for the rest of our time here.
The next day we arrived ready to go - wrist bands on - spend passes ready. Despite yesterday let’s go have fun today!
As soon as we got to the gate we had the charming pleasure of meeting the women pictured. She abruptly told me these wrist bands were got yesterday and we needed to all pay another £50 to get into the park to spend on the cards we bought yesterday. Now to anyone sensible of course this isn’t right.
The women said take it or leave it. She then began to threaten me with getting the boys here. I tried to stay calm and explain that this just isn’t what she was told yesterday. She then said if I speak about this anymore we will loose all our money.
I then told the rest of our party to just go in and make the most of the cards. Upon discreetly going to take a picture she radioed.
This enterprise is criminal and the worst thing is it’s actually criminal. They will take your money, and wripnyou off. You dare so much as to even give feedback. They will throw you out. How on earth this place is even running is beyond me.
The rides are rusty, they look not maintained.
I spend the time writing this review to tell people do not give your money to this funfair. The campsite operator when complained too simply explains it’s a different company which is madness given that it sits within the campsite via one entrance that sits without the Boundarie of the whole campsite.
This women is so so rude, threatening and she is also racist. Another Asian family who complained were met with a response of “there are signs in clear English if you can read...
Read moreOnly used the car parking as it was advertised at £4 for all day. Wife put 3x £1 coins in and on putting a 50p in the machine didn't register it and so we had to hit the cancel button. The machine refunded a single £1 coin so it ended up stealing £2.50 off us. Wife tried to use her mobile to pay using the phone number on the sign and it said her account was blocked. By this time another lady turned up and I told her not to use the machine as it wasn't working so she tried to use her phone and it also said her account was blocked. I then used my mobile and managed to get through to the automated system. As it was automated there was no way of us getting the original £2.50 so I resigned myself to it being lost and having to pay a further £4 by phone.
Anyway the automated system is as awful as the machines and despite reading my registration out very clearly and slowly it still managed to pick it up wrong. It also repeatedly failed to register the car park reference number and the card number I used to pay (which was being typed into the phone but kept cutting out before I had chance to finish).
In the end it took exactly 21 minutes between me arriving and managing to pay for the parking. I asked for a text confirmation but never received it.
I realise the parking is run by a 3rd party but I want people to know that you could make your life far easier by using the beach car park instead if you are not...
