Breakers Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Berrow

Lovely little place here. We stayed at the campsite behind Breakers ( Brightholmes ) came in for our tea twice and absolutely loved the food. First time we ordered the Chicken New Yorker for myself and partner. Everything was delicious, chicken breast was fresh and hot 2 large peices of perfectly cooked bacon and they are not mean on the cheese which some places are, skin on fries and a beautiful fresh salad. My sons had the kids cod and nuggets again perfectly done. The second night my partner and children had the same but I went for the steak and pepper corn sauce and my goodness that the most perfect and perfectly cooked steak i have had in such a long time.

Food time was not long at all everything was fresh and hot when it came out. Nothing was to much trouble from the staff either.

Definitely recommend when...

More like Budget Breakers!

Frankly, I'm not too sure what I expected from this weird tourist place on the Somerset coast: maybe more than about 5 staff members at least.

This establishment seems to have followed the Ryanair pricing model of it not looking too bad on paper but having countless little addons like chips and lettuce for a burger and so on, and without them you end up with my vegan burger that was stone dry with not even the brioche buns containing a lick of moisture, as if they'd been warmed outside on the sandy beach for 3 hours.

All in all, I suppose it could've been worse - the food wasn't awful and the atmosphere was alright, if a little spoiled by the Phoenix-Nights esque stage that really contrasted the rest of the fairly put-together dining room.

Tl;DR you're likely better off...

Update 2023: I can't mark them down for the slop they called 'Chicken Curry', it was poor, but at least it came with an albeit supermarket standard naan bread. What I don't get is that pretty much everything else they do is wonderful and homemade style. For a bit of effort making a base gravy stock, they could bash out a cracking balti here, which would be on par with the other great dishes they do. 5* for the food, but sorry, just 2* for that school dinners Curry.

Excellent service and food. Been a regular visitor for several years. We come here because it's very good. Live entertainment most nights, albeit self contained solo artists. Nice garden and play area for the kids. Dogs welcome outside. Card...
