Myself and my husband have been visiting Brean several times every year for the last 30 or so years and this time has most definitely put us of.
12 of us (3 families of 4) ranging from age 6 -46 visited your theme park on Thirsday 14th August. We didn't arrive until 2.15 ish so the idea was to get a few tokens and then at 3pm get the kids and adults all a wristband as the prices reduced then. 2 of the younger kids decided they wanted to go on the Twister the man asked an adult to scan the card twice as 2 kids were going on the ride, unfortunately the card scanned 3 times and the man was extremely rude to one of the adults and demanded she go to the kiosk and get one ride added back. Some of the adults with the younger kids went to the jimney cricket/crazy frog ride. The kids were told they were tall enough to ride alone without an adult but once the card was scanned was told by the operator they all needed to be accompanied (what's the point in having a height chart if the staff don't use it). Whilst the younger children were there the 2 eldest aged 13 and 16 went on the twister ride. At the end of the ride the 16 year old was getting off the ride the operator was demanding my him to hand over his phone, when he queried it the man was so rude and aggressive towards him and accused him of filming him. He told the operator the phone had fallen out of his pocket and so he was holding it and the man demanded he show him his phone contents he was so rude and aggressive this extremely laid back child was brought to the verge of tears and was shaking. Surely staff need to have safeguarding and customer service training? this mans outburts were witnessed by several other people. My husband went to query this and see what was going on and immediately the man got defensive and rude and arrogant . We decided to cut our losses and leave with 6 very distressed children and 6 equally angry adults. We were then told by a member of staff that as the man owned his own ride there he could treat people how he wanted to and do what he wanted, surely this is incorrect as this will lose a lot of custom. I'm sure he has a contract of terms etc he would need to sign. Therapy on the ticket kiosk told me if I wanted to complain I would need to email. I emailed 2 days after on 16th augustand to date I've had no reply despite sending a...
Read moreI'm not sure what's happened to this place. I used to come here as a child every year, and this was the first year i decided to bring my son here, hoping for the same experience that I used to have. I paid a total of £95 for three "all you can use" wristbands and a top-up card for my wife, who just wanted to use the smaller stalls. Upon entering, I asked the blonde girl at the stall if it gets you access to all activities on site and she replied "yes apart from the games such as ball toss etc" which allowed me to confirm the purchase. We went straight to the go karts and was told we needed to pay. Immediately, this put a damper on our day because it was one of the main attractions we wanted to use, we then went to use the bouncy trampolines, which were/are directly facing the go carts, again; needed payment and were also not where they were on the map. To our surprise, 3 of the rides were down for maintenance, we were told. But in all hope, we carried on. Plodding on and attending to the other rides, a lot of them were only operating less than half of the attractions. The water boat spray ride only allowed 2 people at a time, which made waiting times a lot longer than usual. Not to mention on the same ride the staff member told me, "Can you tell anybody that queus behind you that the ride is closed after you" as if free labour was a thing? It wasn't my job to do this; as if I hadn't paid enough. At the end we went on the log flume with my 1.3m son with the blue wrist band who was refused because he wasn't tall enough but if we payed the lady then she didn't mind "just this once for a drink" We went on the bank holiday weekend per say, and for the lack of staff and open rides, nobody at the first aid booth, top up card booths closed (which made a lot of congested areas dues to queuing at the only one that was open), the conning wristbands, the out of date map and a few other cons, it's safe to say we won't be going here again unfortunately. Really disappointed because; like I said it was once such a magical place...
Read moreThe park itself is quite a big size with a good vary of rides big and small. Price however is a tad High with no family tickets all single price. Adults and older kids above 1.2 metres for majority of rides is £32 as its school holidays but you can go in after 3pm for a reduced price of £14 which I noticed the majority of people did which did reflect longer queue times and shut at 7pm. You can book online which you can get 10% off but doesn't work for the cheaper afternoon rate and you still also need to queue to get the wristband. You can buy a card instead that you can top up and pay per ride which is average £3/£4 each and the rollercoaster is £5. You cannot enter the park for free to walk around or use the arcade etc you have to get a card with a minimum 5 credits which is £5 that I don't agree with. We headed straight to the rollercoaster which had longest queue of around 30/40 mins. While waiting we was skeptical as there was alot of movement from the bars and the small loop moved whenever the cart went round it and also had a pulley rope thing attached to other bars. The cart only holds 8 people and looked very old and banged up. We still Rode it and it did feel rickety and a bit of a head jolter in some parts. Crazy mouse is good lots of spinning, Astro Storm was great reminded me of the old black hole at alton towers. Indoor rollercoaster in pitch black. I managed about 7 or 8 rides total, kids had couple more. Lots of food vans and usual tad expensive which is nothing new altho inside eating place looked outdated and dinghy. Overall the park seemed clean tidy and spacious, we did have an incident with a rude staff member and with the park shutting at 7pm due to our issue we was some of the last out I've never known a place shut so fast and everyone was all out...
