Well having read a real mixed bag of reviews on here, I thought it was going to be an interesting break. Unfortunately, only the terrible seems to have summarised our experience.
Firstly, bear in mind the entertainment pass only allows you access to the one main venue. The funfair you get VERY little discount off, and the swimming pool is still over £4 per person which most other parks offer free.
The service we received was pretty poor, and despite some staff being friendly and stating they were only trying to help, they did very little helping.
A few keys things we found out the hard way... Although they advertise, quite heavily, that there is late night karaoke from 11pm, if you go down there after 11.30pm you wont be allowed in. We arrived at 11.40pm to be told that although they didnt close until 3am we still would be allowed in - never known a camp-site like it! I should clarify this is not mentioned anywhere other than a small poster INSIDE the venue, which you can't see if you aren't allowed in.
There seems to be very little management around to deal with issue. We dealt with an incredible rude member of security but no one could act on it.
If no one in your group is over 30 then you will be asked to pay a £20 per person security bond - in addition to the £50 care bond for the caravan. Although this is all refundable, its still quite an expensive and in my opinion discriminatory way to start a holiday.
In summary, whilst the accommodation is lovely (even though we were close enough to the club house to hear all the music, rather loudly) the service is quite poor, and there are more rules on the site then anywhere else we've stayed at. We personally will never revisit and I'd advise you really think before booking! We've done the Pontins next door and whilst the accommodation there was really bad, the staff and service made it much more...
Read moreCame today with my 6yr and 14mth old, we pre booked online which I would recommend especially for school holidays as they did have to turn away people who hadn't booked, generally a nicely set up of soft play, however there's a few issues that I feel need to be heard and maybe management can find a solution to sorting; firstly very clearly quite a few over 4s in the smaller area with the gate often being left open I found myself shutting the gate on many occasions, then 2 older boys had brought a drink into the smaller play area, I spoke to a staff member who said they would deal with it and the solution was to make an announcement!! Also saw at least 2 people wearing shoes when in both play areas!! Which their is clear signs saying no shoes but socks to be worn!! I feel alot of those breaking the rules was likely holiday makers as I've been before in school time and was a much different atmosphere etc, it was busy but not as busy as some soft plays I've been too.
The staff bless them was absolutely run of their feet, very short staffed I'd say for such a popular soft play and especially at peak season/time, as we aren't too far away likely we will be back but definitely won't be back this summer holidays after today's experience which is a shame considering it was the best equipped soft play for my little one
Management need to do better not just for the customers but for the staff too they was only young...
Read moreWe visited twice during half term whilst on holiday and both times were rather different OK so I'll start with the positives : The play area itself is a lot bigger than I expected which the kids really enjoyed. The manager and staff on the front desk were very cheerful and helpful. The price for entry was average for soft play. The booking system worked well and the queue to get in wasn't too bad . When we ordered cold drinks the first time at the beginning of the week they came quickly . The negatives : the second time we visited midweek we ordered hot drinks via the app and waited for 25 minutes. The drinks weren't what I ordered and paid for so I had to get new drinks made which took another 10 minutes due to them only having one coffee machine . The person making the drinks was a little defensive instead of accepting there was an issue (the coffee had extra shots in and tasted like cleaning fluid ). They were apologetic and replaced the drinks. The cleanliness of the seats, tables, floors were not at a good standard. After bringing this to the attention to the staff we were informed that the seats get cleaned once a week (so I recommend going at the beginning of the week) . The floors were supposed to be cleaned every day but as we were in first I could tell they hadn't been slept or mopped properly . The tables still had left over (what appeared to be)...
