The owner has put a lot of effort into a visually nice space, but has neglected the acoustics of a much larger space than the original cafe.
The kitchen is more exposed, so you get the kitchen clatter ringing in your ears, there are far more free standing chairs than the original cafe, which coupled with the larger space, you get chair shuffling sounds all the time. Additionally, the sound system is playing music to such a level, that you can only presume they are trying to drown out the former 2 noise sources.
The "cafe" has morfed into a place that would better serve as a chinsy wine bar.
It's just too damn loud. Bring back the original cafe.

Read moreWe usually go to the old dragon cafe but the new one has now opened. Its a beautiful cafe with the same menu as the old cafe. The staff are so lovely and very helpful . They have genuine smiles. My daughter had a sandwich which she really liked but would have preferred butter to margarine and a little garnish on the side. I had veggie sausages,mash,onion gravy and peas,most of which was nice. However the peas were very hard and there were far too many . The decor is really fab but the music was too loud and i guess not to many peoples taste. It hindered with the overall atmosphere. So saying we will definitely go there...
