Honestly, it's not the first place I thought of after a while since visiting Bristol. It was a late lunch with friends and the menu appears to cover most bases. Environment is as expected clean and fresh. Welcomed as a party of 4 and asked if the table was suitable as there were other options. The outlook of a metal dome, water feature, media screen and other 'art' installations feels industrial but slightly like a site of departure for further travel/adventures. Once sat at a rather comfy 1/2 booth and seating for 8ish we viewed the menus. Ladies loved the cocktail selection and while some of the beers were bottled the rothhammer red was an interesting and pleasant find. Now the rest consisted of a couple of draft Corona pints, 2 pina-colada, 2 tutti-frutti, 2 vanilla mai tai, lemonade (driver) and a double Havana 7yr (guilty). All arrived and were enjoyed accordingly. At some point between all these tipples the food arrived. Unfortunately we were there during a transition of menus/products and the choices were limited by this. Following a healthy selection of starters and mains that all enjoyed and devoured without mercy. The pudding choices/time arrived... Now affogato was not a choice... The lady that was serving the table agreed to acquire one. The second espresso, as the first had chilled was thoughtful and unexpected. All 4 had a very pleasant time and don't disregard 'chains' it's the front of house staff that can make any establishment (not forgetting the chef). Oh and boy the goat curry is good but a little warm. Thank you for the second espresso it was just the little bit extra and not forgotten.

I love las iguanas! I went with a friend of mine for a bottomless brunch this past Saturday. It's a set menu when you choose bottomless option (maybe 7/8 options) however you can choose an option from the main menu for an extra £5.50 per person - which I did because I really fancied the burrito! Plus 3 of the options off the set menu we were told weren't available that day. It wasn't as nicely presented as last time I had this however was just as yummy. The cocktails were amazing but unfortunately came in tumbler sized glasses so they went down super fast. The only cocktail that was in a normal sized glass was the long Island icetea. Sometimes it took quite a while to bring the drinks we ordered over to us however our server was very attentive and regularly checked to see if we were ok. We did request to sit outside however were told all bottomless brunches have to be seated inside, which was a bit of a shame because it got very busy half way through and it was SOOO loud, myself and my friend were literally shouting just to hear eachother. I would definitely visit again however I would probably avoid going again on a Saturday unless outside seating was an option.

I’m not normally one to complain, but my most recent visit was quite literally that bad and far below the decent standards set on previous visits. We booked a table for Saturday 13/07, under the pretence of getting the Chicas Cocktail Club deal. We waited 10+ minutes to be let in and seated, even though it was not busy. We were told Chicas is only available on weekdays, even though when you check the website, you will see it states “Available all day, everyday, for pre-booked or walk-in”, it allows you to book a table on weekends from that section of the website, and has always been available on weekends previously. Anyway, given we had booked, were hungry, and thirsty, we ordered something else, and got some 2for1 drinks. I waited 20 minutes for a glass of coke to be brought to the table, which I did not find justifiable given the restaurant was half empty, and the quietest I’ve ever seen it. I’ve had much better service when it has been packed busy. The Alcohol was an even longer wait. I don’t have an issue with food taking time, within reason, and I thought it was brought to the table in good time. Unfortunately, all 3 dishes were cold and had no warmth whatsoever, I kept mine because I was that hungry, and didn’t feel like waiting for more. 2 cocktails were also half empty, and looked disgusting. When we raised the issue to the waitress about this, who was friendly up until that point, her attitude soon changed, and her facial expressions and tone became ruder. Whilst she’s not a robot, and she’s entitled to become stressed and frustrated, I didn’t feel like this was applicable to such a quick and minor complaint, and she should do a better job of hiding it from customers next time. Do whatever you want when you’re out of sight We didn’t see her for the rest of our visit, and started to become served by different people from that point. When we did receive the bill, we still had 2 dishes and 2 drinks that were sent back, on the bill, as well as a 10% service charge which I found ironic, given the long wait, cold food, poor standard of drinks and rude service. We asked for these to be removed, and for an updated bill, this took a while. I believe their till/computer system was running slow, but found it quite poor appearance, that the person manning this, was getting very frustrated and slamming it, to make it work. All in all, probably the worst restaurant service I’ve ever had. Maybe they were short staffed and certain things weren’t working, but it’s not really justifiable given how quiet it was, and the fact that there are a dozen other 1 star reviews, with similar complaints recently, show that this has become the standard for Las Iguanas Harbourside over the past year, which is disappointing as I did previously considered it a good and affordable spot for food and drinks, with good service.

We returned here after an amazing meal around 3 weeks ago (£15 tapas deal) it was delicious food. After having a great experience the 1st time we wanted to go again- unfortunately I don’t know how wrong they could get the food. Firstly we were made to start with nachos we didn’t even want or ask for not sure if that was a strategy to fill us up so we order less. The prawns were so rubbery, and cold with no flavouring it actually made me feel quite ill after the first bite. Secondly, the pull pork tacos (dough was soggy like it had been microwaved, basic filling and no sauce on the pork). The only tasty thing was the Brazilian chicken. In addition, after letting the waiter know we didn’t enjoy the food he let the manager know. The lady came over and ask us what the issue was I shown her a picture of the food we had a few weeks ago and said this was really not good enough she went on to say ‘so you want your food for free then’ . She went back to the till, came back and said ‘-actually don’t worry about paying for the drink I just need you to leave now so we can use the table’. We were happy to pay for drinks and tip waiter ect however we literally got rushed out’ Walking over to leave she followed behind us, shouted behind us bye she brushed passed my sister- we then said to her what was her problem because all we did is what to come and have nice food as we had such a great experience the first time, her answer was ‘we are just so busy’. Was utterly shocked at her managerial skills As I said I know it was a £15 deal so cutting corner may be made but at least the food could’ve been edible. First picture is our first experience Second picture is our second experience

Absolutely appalled by our experience at Las Iguanas Bristol Harbourside. Your website clearly advertises that happy hour starts at 9pm, we have the screenshot to prove it. We arrived just before 9pm, were initially given the 2-for-1 offer, and then without warning, it was stopped. When we questioned it, we were told by the so-called “manager” (a woman in her late 20s/early 30s, around 5ft tall with dark hair) that happy hour wouldn’t start until 9:30pm. She outright refused to honour the advertised time, refused to give her name, and told us she “couldn’t care” and that it “wasn’t her fault.” Her behaviour was shockingly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, completely unacceptable for someone in a management position. To make matters worse, we were with a group of homosexual friends, and the treatment we received compared to other tables felt blatantly discriminatory. We were made to feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, and disrespected. In 2025, this is not only appalling, it’s disgraceful. I’ve reported the misleading advertising to Trading Standards, as this violates consumer protection laws. I also hope this situation is investigated internally, because no one should be treated the way we were. Avoid this location if you care about being treated fairly, honestly, and with basic human decency.

Table booked for 5.30, got there early, 4 adults 1 child, it was busy outside and maybe 2 tables inside, drinks menu came over dirty with food stains on, cocktails that we wanted were unavailable, we ordered food at same time as we were all hungry. Food came out couple of minutes after the drinks arrived, 3 of us ordered the chicken enchiladas, sweet potatoes and dirty cheesy fries, the enchiladas came with a black sauce, which looked and tasted awful, the enchiladas was tasteless but the sauce that it was in was nice and spicy. Our server was being trained, the guy doing the training didn't seem very patient with her, and did feel sorry for her, unorganised chaos, other customers came in, a large table full, they waited some time nobody came over to them, they eventually got up and left, which in hindsight we should have done. With the child's meal we ordered dessert, which took an age, we then asked 3 times for it to be boxed so we could take it away, it came plated. Eventually got the bill and left. It would appear that there wasn't enough staff to run the restaurant and those that were there were run-ragged with no support, would I go back to this one again - a definite NO.
