Braidburn Valley Park is a spectacular park for many reasons. The main reason is the view, regardless of where you are within this park you are guaranteed to have a great view. If you are entering from the Comiston/Greenbank end of the park and are met with great views of the little burn that leads its way under a bridge and great views of the Pentlands in the background, or if you are entering from the Greenbank/Oxgangs end you are met with the start of the burn, loads of trees and looking to your right you have a great view of the Braid Hills Hotel looking over the park.
The second greatest thing about this park and the most exciting one, especially for me, is all the dogs! Puppy galore! I love bringing my dog here and just letting him run wild. With the trees, hills and burn it usually brings out the same reaction in dogs as a hyperactive child would have in a soft play area.
If you aren't too bothered about the dogs and just fancy a walk then the tranquility of the little burn and relaxed feel will suit you too, you could even grab a book and sit on the hill and enjoy the sunshine if it is out.
I'm always torn about what park in Edinburgh is my favourite but I think this one might just steal it each...
