Afternoon tea for four. One was gluten free (allergies). We made use of the Wowcher offer to try this out and really were not disappointed. For those in the know, coeliacs is not the easiest of food to get right but the chef at the Braid Hills Hotel completely smashed it! My daughter was delighted with the quality of the food that she was served, as were we all. My son-in-law raved about the haggis bites, which was good because he was able to eat mine (haggis, yuck, lol but it's just not for everyone). The smoked salmon pate was, however, delicious. Now lets get down to the sweet treats. Wow! Again, my daughter was so pleased with the home made scone, scones are notorious at the best of times, but take the gluten out and you will struggle to get them as light as these were! All of the food was truly lovely. Food wise I would put it up there with some of the best in Edinburgh, however the dining room was maybe not up there. That said, it was very far from being bad, I would say that it was simply average. Please remember though, the cost of this, even without a Wowcher deal, was so much lower than "the best in Edinburgh" so for the food to match that standard what's not to like. All I am saying is that if you are looking for swanky, this is not the place, also, if you are looking for a greasy spoon this is not the place. If you are, however, looking for a place that is warm and welcoming, you have found your little piece of heaven. Service though, wow, we had an Asian waiter, was he from India? certainly somewhere around there, I only say because I did not get his name and would really love for management to know what an absolute gem he was. So warm and welcoming and extremely attentive from the minute we arrived until we left. Oh,and, not on the menu for the afternoon tea was some red lentil soup that the chef sent out with compliments to us, we all agreed we would have been extremely happy to order that had we been dining there, maybe next time. Yes, next time, there most certainly will be a next time.

Fantastic place for a bite! The building is super cute and has a great view. I had the Lamb Rump which was absolutely heavenly with the orange sauce. For dessert I had the Scottish Sunday which was perfectly sweet and a wonderful end of an evening. The service was very nice. No complaints! A very nice place to eat.

Dinner with family and the taste is very good. My kids really enjoy on it. Their mussels also fresh but the portion seems to not fit for 2 adults. The atmosphere is very nice with scottish features. Their service also good.

Strange character on night-shift was reported to management .Mike Guy was leaving 4 days later. Hotel allowed Him to stay rather than pay him his last 4 days and ask him to leave... Why would a hotel put residents and staff at risk ! It's being reported to the main provider who are abroad . Lots of police staying in this hotel ! Made me feel uneasy as they were in and out of car park at all hours of the morning .. Found it difficult to sleep. Not a good experience staying in this particular hotel and would never recommend it . Catering staff bar staff and night staff and reception staff very friendly and could not do enough to help residents ..

Management need more training on security of hotel for both residents and staff .

Will be taking this up with senior management of this...

The place is located in the calm area and is great for short and long stays. It has spacious car parking and a bus stop next to the hotel. So you can leave your car and explore Edinburgh by public transport. There is also a park next to the hotel where you can spent some time enjoying morning walk. The hotel has lounge, bar and restaurant where you can relax if the weather is not friendly enough. We had the room for two that was clean and comfortable. We had everything we need. However, sometimes we heard our neighbors speaking in the other room, so sound proof could be better. But it's not critical as long as there is no...
